The Van Gogh Museum is located in Amsterdam, at the Museumplein, the famous square where you’ll also find the Rijksmuseum, the Concertgebouw concert hall, and the Stedelijk Museum. It is The Netherlands’ second most-visited museum, attracting between one to two million visitors each year. The Van Gogh Museum consists of two buildings, which were designed by acclaimed architects Kisho Kurokawa and Gerrit Rietveld. The Kurokawa wing is used for temporary exhibitions and the Rietveld building displays the permanent works. There you will find over 200 paintings, 500 drawings and 800 letters by the Dutch artist. Some of the most well-known pieces on display include the Van Gogh Sunflowers (1889), Almond Blossoms (1890) and The Potato Eaters (1885).
