A glimpse into the life of the super wealthy

Discover how the super wealthy used to live during the 17th century in this luxurious mansion! At the Willet Holthuysen Museum, located in the heart of Amsterdam, will introduce you to its original owners Louisa Willet-Holthuysen and Abraham Willet, the affluent couple that was living in the picturesque merchant house on Herengracht from 1861 to 1895 and who later donated it to the city of Amsterdam along with its interior furnishings.

The Willet Holthuysen Museum takes you on a tour through the couple’s lives, from the ladies’ salon, where Louisa received her visitors, the picturesque dining room and conservatory with an amazing view of the garden to the gentlemen’s parlour, where Abraham used to share his passion for art with his friends. The ticket includes a free audio tour in multiple languages that tells the story of the former occupants, making it a great and educational experience for all ages.
