About
Panoramic views over Amsterdam
The A’DAM LOOKOUT is the observation deck of Amsterdam, standing on top of the A’DAM Tower on the north shore of the IJ river. The tower is 100 metres tall and offers spectacular views over the city. From the historic city centre with its iconic canals to the city’s dynamic port, you can see it all from up here.
During your visit to the A’DAM LOOKOUT you can take a free 30-minutes audio tour of the city, filled with fun facts and highlights of what you can see from the observation deck. On the observation deck, you’ll find interactive binoculars with even more information about the city.
Adventure on top of the city
You’ll quickly reach the top of the A’DAM Tower with their spectacular lift. It will take you to the 20th floor in 20 seconds, has stunning light and sound effects, and a see-through ceiling. Once out of the lift, you can step outside onto the observation deck, where you can also visit the Rooftop Bar for your free drink.
If you prefer to enjoy your drink inside, you can visit the Panorama Restaurant. At both locations you can choose between soft drinks, Heineken beer or white house wine. In the restaurant you can also order extra bites, if you are feeling hungry.
For more adventure, you have the option to book a ride on the highest swing in Europe, which will have you dangling over the edge of the building. If you are afraid of heights, you might want to try the Amsterdam VR Ride, a rollercoaster ride along the highlights of Amsterdam. Both these activities can be booked on site and are not part of this ticket.

Break from tours, enjoy the real A’dam
Excellent time viewing the city, riding swings, playing with VR, beers for parents and beanbags for kids to lounge. Highly recommend!
Cool expierence
This was such a cool experience. The view is incredible, and the telescopes are super futuristic and detailed. I definitely recommend the swing, which is really is exhilarating and worthwhile. Really fun, even through the cost is pricey.
Great value for money!
This was great value for money. £20 for the swing and AR experience. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it!
Fantastic views of the city, swing not for the faint hearted
Great views of the city, elevator ride was pretty good light show. Expensive to get in if you only want to go and visit the top, husband did the swing. Sat for a few hours and watched the world Go by which was great. Would recommend for a trip as boat across the canal is free making it easy to get to.
Touristy thing to do for some fun.
A'DAM lookout is thing to do in Amsterdam. Maybe not a must-do if crunched on time. The all-round views of Amsterdam are good, but there is an entry charge which may not appeal to all. Most activities are of short duration - the lift ride up with light effects, the swing is probably a minute (but did like it), a drink on the top is a nice touch, the VR experience is probably 2-3 minutes . We did not go to the restaurant, and it needs reservations. Touristy thing to do for some fun. PS - TA description says it's in the league of Eiffel Tower. Well, all I can say is- be warned - mildly putting it is not in the same league :)
A swinging time
We did the lookout and the swing. The swing only lasts about 1 minutes, but it's plenty. It swings over the edge of the building into the air. I've never done this anywhere. This lookout also has a 360 view of the city with pictures explaining what you see. Had a drink after. Can take about an hour.
Amazing Views
We visited this viewpoint tower across the water from the Central station and next to “the eye viewpoint” building. Top tip - You can get to it using the free public foot ferry behind the central station for the short 10 minute crossing. Then Its only a 10 minute walk along the waterfront from the ferry and of course there are some cafes on the way!! You pay at the bottom, but you can get tickets in advance on their website. It’s a great experience for children and adults alike with an un-interrupted view of the city. On the way up there is a light and sound show in the fast elevator which was fun. At the top along the parapet there are information boards explaining what you can see and some of the history or if thats not your thing just enjoy the view or try out the nerve shattering fairground swing😱 We chickened out of that one after listening to the screams😱😂😂 What was also cool was the bean bags lying around to lounge on and there was a kiosk serving drinks and snacks There is plenty of seating and we enjoyed wine in the sun before ending our visit. A great experience worth the price and a good way to see the city 👍
Worth a visit
Really fun! A must do. The sun was shining which made sitting at the top with a drink and chilling so much more fun!
Crazy and fun!
Would do it again!!! That was a blast and a really cool experience!! 10/10!!
Great views on nice day
This was included in our City Card but would have been quite expensive for something that takes less than an an hour had we paid full price. However, the views were great (the weather was reasonable) and the fun pictures taken are a nice touch (free with a QR code). An interesting building too with a short cinema screening showing the history of the tower. The ferry is free from Central station
The A'DAM Swing is a Must!
A must do experience in Amsterdam! We had this at a reduced price with the iAmsterdam card, so it was great value. We visited in the afternoon and there was a moderate queue but it allowed time to explore the building and get some good photos! The swing was amazing with great views across Amsterdam, the staff member even let us swing a few times as it was quiet at the top of the tower! We spent around an hour here taking in the views and what the A'DAM tower had to offer! The experience we had even included free digital copies of photos which was a nice touch!
Fantastic for special occasions
We went here for a special birthday, we done the swing and had a meal which was lovely. The view was incredible and was timed perfect watching the sunset. This is a must experience and perfect for a special occasion.
Mostly good!
Visited here on a trip to Amsterdam from the UK in early December 2025 - very organised checking in process and staff were professional and polite if not overly friendly. The swing was a good experience however it is very short so perhaps a little overpriced. The digital versions of the staged photographs you get taken being included in the price softened this a little though. The view I imagine would be great over Amsterdam especially at sunset or in better weather conditions, unfortunately the city was shrouded in fog when we were there so had no view at all, of course this is not the fault of the venue or staff so that's not why it's 4* instead of 5*. The VR rollercoaster was interesting, I wouldn't pay for it solely by itself and the member of staff operating it on the day clearly didn't want to be there and did not even speak to us when we showed him our tickets. There was also a fire alarm test meaning we had to walk down a fire escape stairwell to get out, not the end of the world obviously but when the test was only supposed to last 20 minutes and was close to lasting 40 by the time we asked if we could use the stairs, not great. All in all I would recommend, I may even visit again if I went back to Amsterdam hoping for better weather!
Best place to see Amsterdam from above!
Great city views, a few adventurous rides and plenty of spots to eat. From Centraal Station we took the free ferry across the river to the A’DAM Tower, where the observation deck sits about twenty storeys up looking straight back over Amsterdam. It’s roughly 18 euros per person to head up, and you get both indoor and outdoor viewing areas with fixed binoculars to scan the canals, rooftops and waterways. The lift ride includes a light show, which adds a bit of fun. It’s kid-friendly, with bathrooms, shops and food options. Wheelchair access could be challenging in parts. We enjoyed it — an hour is plenty to take it all in.
Great views
Great spot to view Amsterdam from above. Easy access to trains and buses, shopping and restaurants near by. Nice bar on top floor
You will not regret it !!!
I warmly encourage you to visit this place. The views are truly spectacular — you can see Amsterdam in all directions, and not only Amsterdam! If the weather is clear and there's no fog, you can even spot other cities in the distance. It's a great place to relax and spend the evening. I strongly recommend trying the swing — it's definitely scary if you're afraid of heights, like I am 😉 — but it's 1000% worth it! I also want to mention the fantastic staff working here, especially one guy named Luenkan. He's very friendly, polite, and funny, and there's a positive aura that just shines around him. If you have any questions, feel free to approach him directly — he clearly enjoys his work and is always happy to help.
Amazing!
The place really is a destination to be seen while in Amsterdam. I highly recommend the swing, if you don't have fear of heights - I loved it.
Fun experience
Really fun experience, we got great photos on the sky deck, the swing was fun (though a very short 90 second ride) and we also did the VR rollercoaster experience. The only thing that marred the experience was waiting around for 10 minutes for staff to sort out the lockers which didn’t open as intended using the website.
The best lookout in town!
Really worth going, amazing views of the city! The fee is very reasonable for what you get, I highly recommend the swings on the roof top! The staff is very friendly and happy to tell you about the city!
Lovely Views ❤️
We enjoyed this attraction the staff were friendly and it doesn’t take long to do but we thought the views were lovely and highly recommend doing it when in Amsterdam.
Beautiful view on Amsterdam (100 meters) with nice bar 😎
Come and enjoy. You coud come with family or friends and you find something for everybody. VR experience, swing at a height of 100 m, top view and bar as well. So have you been here ?
Check out this site for great views of the Amstercam cityscape!
A'dam Lookout is an observation deck on a 100-metre high tower that allows you to enjoy spectacular, panoramic views of Amsterdam. Entry to the observation desk is free with the I amsterdam card, otherwise you'll have to pay €16,50 for a standard adult ticket, which it is better to buy online as it's €2 cheaper. If you'd like to get on the swing, you'll have to pay another €7,50, and you can also get combination tickets which include food, drinks and a VR rollercoaster ride. Although I really enjoyed this site, I wouldn't say that it's a must-see. However, if you've got some spare time and you enjoy city views, it's worth checking it out.
Fun and Unique Experience in Amsterdam!
The swing is an absolute blast! It’s thrilling without being too intimidating, and the VR experience adds an extra layer of fun. Plus, they provide free photos to download afterwards, so you can capture all the excitement without paying extra. If you’re visiting Amsterdam, this is definitely a must-do activity for a memorable and fun experience!
Great experience
My 10 yo son and I visited the ADAM Lookout and combined it with the VR Rollercoaster and Swing options. The view from the observation deck is amazing (luckily we had a clear day). To make the most of the time up there I do recommend that you combine it with the other activities that are available. The VR roller-coaster was good and the Swing was brilliant - my only criticism would be that the swing ride wasn't long enough. Overall, with the added activities, it was a good way to spend an hour or so
Great!
Loved this! Best thing to do in Amsterdam after a canal boat trip. Brilliant views, the swings were great and the rollercoaster was amazing. Will definitely do it all again if I return to Amsterdam.
Must see
The service here is incredible. They went above and beyond to accommodate for unforeseen circumstances. The staff are also very sweet and just the best.
Great time. Loved the swing
We visted Adams Lookout after This is Holland . We firstly had a VR ride on the roller coaster. My daughter loved this but I wasn't impressed (not sure if faulty as it was very blurry). We then went up to the sky deck. Enjoyed a waffle and a drink, good atmosphere with the music playing. Decided to go on the swing which was a fab experience. The lift up and down was good fun with the lightshow. Great views for photos. Would recommend
Great fun 💚
We booked the Lookout/Swing/VR Roller-coaster. Good price for the 3 if bought in a bundle. Lovely way to spend an afternoon
I always like to go up a tower, so I was looking forward to this! It wasn’t too busy, so there wasn’t much of a wait. The lift (elevator) has a fancy light thing in the ceiling, which is a bit of fun. The view from the top was great! It was very windy, of course, but you can look out from the windows in the bar if the wind is too much! There’s also a film showing the awesome firework and drone display from a New Year’s Eve, and another film telling the story of the tower’s history and how it came to be transformed into the multi-purpose entertainment centre it is today.
A fun time
Just ten minutes from Centrum via ferry the A'DAM Lookout is an all-in-one hotel, overlook, bar, restaurant and amusement park. Easy to access and navigate guests travel up 20 stories in an elevator with light-show before choosing a VR Rollercoaster, over-the-edge swing or dinner. Touristy, with prices to match, staff is pleasant and everything is operated with safety and proficiency.
RIDE THE SWING!
We LOVED our visit to the top of A'dam Tower. The swing was outstanding - very secure and well run. And, of couse, the view is incredible. We also enjoyed our break in the bar with excellent cocktails & food.
Enjoyable lunch while overlooking the city
We jumped on the ferry from the central train station over to go visit A’DAM. No lines, great view. We didn’t partake in the swing (chickens) We enjoyed lunch and drinks, while overlooking the city of Amsterdam. I would recommend
Adam’s lookout and Adam’s Swing
The elevator was sooo cool and mom and I went in the Adam’s swim which was fun. Felt a like a real daredevil. Was an awesome experience.
Great Visit
Took ferry over ( bonus as free ). On entry got the tokens for drink we paid for . Glad we didn’t choose food as so many places in Amsterdam but enjoyed the drink with view . Great view . Lucky with a good summer’s day . Spent ages looking down . Lovely tourist attraction .
1000% Must experience
We bought the combo ticket with This is Holland. The views are a must see. Great drinking and eating options or just see the sites! We only used the lookout. Plenty of photo opportunities, the swing looked fun for any thrill seekers (it is extra). We only went during the day, I wish we would have went back at night to see the city lit up as well. Warning, there isn't much sun protection while on the observation deck. Bring sunscreen! Overall we spent a little under an hour viewing the sites and taking great photos. Catching the ferry over is free, but can get busy with all the tourist and bikers.
Breathtaking Views, Great Vibe – Slightly Pricey
A’dam Lookout offers a truly inspiring panoramic view of Amsterdam from above – perfect for photos and soaking in the city. The atmosphere is modern and chill, with a café and lounge area available (booking a table in advance is recommended). Tickets are €18 on-site or €16 online, which feels a bit steep, but overall worth it. You can ride the elevator to the rooftop for an amazing bird’s-eye perspective – there’s also a swing ride for thrill-seekers (though I didn’t try it). Clean facilities, friendly staff, and a cool glass-walled toilet with a view add to the experience. Would recommend, especially for first-time visitors.
Nice view of Amsterdam
We visited with our iamsterdam card, otherwise I’m not sure we would have visited. The view over Amsterdam was nice with tower viewers all around. I recommend going at sunset as it would make it more special. We didn’t try the swing or the restaurant/ bar which could have contributed to a more spectacular experience.
Fab views of city
This was our first activity after arriving in Amsterdam. We took the free ferry over and it was an easy short walk to the tower. Once inside we purchased our ticket for the swing and we also booked This is Holland which is in the building behind Adam Tower. The lift to the top of the tower is filled with flashing lights as you go up. Once there you can see the views from the restaurant and go outside on the roof for the swing. If you are not swinging they have a platform set up to see out and also take photos of someone swinging. You can purchase the photos they take of you when you go back down to the gift shop. Great start to the trip.
Sight-seeing experience
Convenient location - regular free ferry behind Central Station. The VR ride was quite funny. Around the city through roller-coaster. Many famous places of Amsterdam could see through 360 degrees view. The swing was amazing and exciting even little bit short. Wonderful experience. Definitely worth it.
Nice view, mediocre dinner.
Nice view of Amsterdam from the top. The glass window in the floor is also cool. The telescopes were useless as they're blurry, so you can't see much. We booked a dinner reservation with our entry ticket (At Madam restaurant next to the Sky bar. The revolving restaurant underneath is fine dining). Although well cooked, the food was mediocre in taste and the portion size of the salmon was quite small. We were also seated at a table where it was hard to see the view, which defeated the object. Would recommend going for the view and a drink but not the food.
a fun few hours!
i had a great time at A’dam Lookout! you get a photo taken before you enter and its a free digital photo which was a nice touch! and the view was amazing, we had a drink in the bar which you could see all of Amsterdam from! it was a beautiful day to, went out to the outside part of the observation deck and seen the swing that goes over the edge of thr building! it looked really cool but i couldnt do it as i’m terrified of heights! we did want to have dinner up there to but it had sold out so book in advance if you want that! but overall had a really great time and its very easy to get to, just take the Buiksloterweg free ferry from Amsterdam Centraal and it takes less than 5 mins to get there
Interesting and fun!
The A'dam tower was a unique experience - interesting and fun. We thought it was great value for money. We bought the swing package and did not regret it.
Fun
Did the swing only. Got to be honest I’m not keen on heights but enjoy doing fun things and this is definitely fun. Reasonably priced and fun to do. Would recommend
Great views
We really enjoyed our visit to the lookout. Great views across the city. It was a beautiful spring day so we enjoyed a drink in the sunshine. I imagine it could get quite busy up there at peak times but there was plenty of room on our visit. Like that they had free binoculars to see the view too.
Not hidden, but a gem nonetheless!
My friend and I had so much fun coming here! The tower itself is really awesome and it was more informative than we thought! We were pleasantly surprised. The view was also amazing, even though the weather could’ve been better. The swing on the tower was the absolute highlight, it was the reason we even came. It was such a surreal feeling for the both of us, but in the best way possible. The rush of the air as you’re swinging over the edge - you can’t put a price on that, so if you’re coming to Amsterdam, definitely consider this gem. My friend and I both had a bag with us and were able to store them in a box beside the swing. Bonus: Even the souvenir shop was quite nice and we found a little something for our friends and family there.
Swing over the top to see Amsterdam!
Teenager absolutely loved the swing experience and I had fun too! Gift shop was great and the staff was helpful and friendly!
Bucket list material
Loved everything about this experience, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and I throughly enjoyed it only thing I could change would be to make the actual swing time longer but I understand it is limited to ensure everyone has a turn and keep the queue down. The tickets we bought through GYG weren’t actually tickets for the swing it was entry ticket and 2 free drinks but still was cheap to pay for the actual swing experience. It was a great day during our swing so we had a great view of Amsterdam. The lift up to the bar and swing is a LED light experience which was great too.
Fun experience with great views
So happy we visited. Scary swing ride but well worth it for the views. Great photos included and purchased video was worth it for memories. Ferry from central station across the water was easy and free. Great bar both inside and outside of lookout.
A'DAM Lookout: a fun Amsterdam experience.
A great experience. We booked online the day before for Lookout entry with the 'Over the Edge' swing experience. Staff were very friendly and welcoming with great up beat energy. After taking in views and riding the swing, we went to the Sky Bar. Very friendly, clean and prices about average for a big city. Tip: even you drop in, go to the toilets. It's a loo with a view! The whole experience was a lot of fun and good value for money. Would recommend and would visit again if back in the city.
Do it
Great, fun place. Enjoyed the swing and the 3d ride. Drinks reasonably priced in the bar. Nice that it’s a free ferry from the railway station
