About
Discover the best sights on LOVERS’ Semi-Open Boat Cruise in Amsterdam
The semi-open boat cruise is perfect those who want to discover even the smallest canal’s of Amsterdam’s 17th century canal belt. The boats used for this cruise are specifically designed to ensure that you can marvel at the beauty of the ‘Venice of the North’, regardless of the weather.
On sunny days, you’ll be able to enjoy the sun rays through the open roof. If it rains, the roof is easily closed with a glass-top or a regular cruise boat is used, so you’ll stay comfortable and warm, ensuring you continue to relish Amsterdam’s distinctive charm.
The semi-open boat trip lasts about one hour and takes you to all of the most important sights in Amsterdam. On this Amsterdam canal cruise by semi-open boat, you’ll sail down the UNESCO World Heritage-listed canals, which date back to the 17th century, then sail past must-see attractions such as the Red Light District, the Western Church, the Anne Frank House or the Hermitage.
Amsterdam from a different perspective with this semi-open boat cruise
Don't miss out on a boat tour through the city's famous canals when visiting Amsterdam. The Dutch capital has over 100 km of canals and more than 1200 bridges to offer. The boats used for the classic semi-open boat cruise are not only modern and comfortable but also smaller than regular boats. This way you also get to experience the oldest and narrowest waterways of Amsterdam's city centre.
Each canal tour is unique as the captain changes the route depending on the size of the boat and the traffic on the canals. This allows you an unhindered view of the city's attractions and to take beautiful pictures to remind yourself of the experience when you return home.
The experience is further enriched by the knowledgeable captains and an audio guide, available in 19 different languages, so that you won’t miss out any important information about the great sights along the way.

Very nice afternoon tour
We had a lovely tour of the city, with audio guide and the captain chiming in on occasion. You get to enjoy the canals and some of the highlights around them. It's a quick tour, just an hour, but very enjoyable. Also, if it's cold, you'll be happy it's not much longer, and also that the boat isn't fully open!
1 hour cruise along the canals
I really enjoyed this 1 hour boat ride. It was a bit confusing to find the boat (as it was not next to their big sign where some of their other boats take off from) but I just asked at the kiosk and they pointed me in the right direction. The audio was provided via a recording that you plugged free, complementary headphones into and was in a range of different language options. The boat has windows and panels, so sometimes more difficult to take photos from, but it was really relaxing to float down the canals and learn a bit of Amsterdam history. There are other boats that have drinks etc on them - this is not one, but that didn’t impact the enjoyment of this tour at all. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking to see Amsterdam from the canals.
Fun sightseeing.
Lovely canal cruise in partly open boat. Got quite hot at times on a sunny day. Provided earphones for guided tour. Captain very friendly.
Decent tour with friendly Captain
This was a decent tour with friendly driver/guide and audiotrack equipment for your language available. We saw a lot of Amsterdam via this tour and got to see places that we probably would not have seen I.e where the Mayor of Amsterdam lives, etc
Nice way to spend an hour
We booked at the lovers office near the Anne Frank house at a cost of £16 each. Boarded easily, no queue, guide was knowledgable and friendly and the audio guide was helpful too.
Buena experiencia
