Unlike most amusement parks, there is far more to Tivoli than the optional rides alone. The park is filled with different types of gardens to engage all your senses. You can enjoy some peace and quiet in the Hanging Gardens with its big trees and a large grassy area to relax on.
The Orangery is reminiscent of classic, easy, exotic and nostalgic botanical gardens. While the bubbles of the Nimb Water Fountains pull you in to enjoy beautiful flowers and scenery in the company of the occasional peacock. And over at the Pergola Gardens you can explore the world of edible plants by taking in both their fragrance and their flavours.
On the southern tip of the lake you can visit three Asian-inspired gardens. The Bamboo forest has lots of bamboo and rhododendron; the Orient brings you palms, desert-oasis and exotic plants; and the Vintage Cars garden shows you flowerbeds inspired by a Chinese mountain landscape.
Finally, there are the traditionally Danish parts of the park. The Parterre Gardens have long held a position of great importance in Danish garden culture with its 22 beds and 32 water basins. And to visit a fantasy based Danish market town, the Alley is the place to go.
Throughout the green gardens of Tivoli, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to slacken your thirst or taste delicious food. You’ll find all sorts of international cuisines here, from English fish and chips to Italian pizza, and from traditional Danish smorgasbords to Japanese sushi. There is something to eat for everyone at Tivoli.
And then of course there are around 30 rides to enjoy as well. There are rides for all ages, such as the Classic Carousel and Ferris Wheel for the youngest visitors, and the Demon roller coaster and Golden Tower for thrill seekers. All in all a visit to Tivoli Gardens is an experience you don’t want to miss when visiting Copenhagen.

Had no idea what to expect when I was told it was an amusement park! We were here at Xmas time and only paid for entry tickets - we weren’t bothered about doing rides but you can pay as you go - we did end up doing one of the lovely old school roller coasters for fun. At Xmas time the lights are lovely with a light show every hour from 19.30 - best seen from the bridge over the lake - get there early enough to be near the front. The little shops are full of Xmas decs/food and drinks. We went to the Tivoli Food Hall for supper so we all had what we wanted - anything from hot dogs to curries or noodle dishes. It was busy and we had to wait a while to find a table but we had a good meal.

One of the best things we did all weekend. It’s especially magical due to all the Christmas lights at the moment. A selection of rides suited for different peoples level of thrill. Christmas market within is quite big loads of places to get mulled wine/cider if you’re feeling festive. Lots of places to get food. Only side note really is to pre book online with the unlimited ride pass as even if you think you won’t go on rides it will save you money if you decide to later on.

Absolutely fabulous - loved seeing it all lit up for Christmas, such a treat. Queues for the rides moved very quickly. Easy to see how this place inspired Walt Disney. It’s magical!

My visit to Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen during coming Christmas was absolutely magical. The atmosphere was incredibly festive, with themed decorations, illuminated Christmas trees and an enchanting ambiance.

We went as a couple and more for the Christmas market not looking for the theme park experience. Having been to Christmas markets in Prague, Krakow, Reykjavik and Budapest this was pretty good. What I saw from the theme park seemed a bit lacklustre and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend from that perspective

Tivoli Gardens is such a beautiful place, it has been said that Walt Disney visited here and that it inspired him to create the Magic Kingdom :-)

Enjoyable experience at Tivoli. Cool decorations for Halloween. Rides were fun but some of them were closed such as Tik Tak which was a shame. Queues were a bit long including the Haunted House which was complete rubbish and not worth the wait.

What a joy Tivoli was, they do Halloween like I have never seen before. We went for opening at 11, left at lunch stamped out and returned in the evening. Lots of little shops to browse. We bought a general admission ticket, you could buy ride tickets in the park. Lots of restaurants to choose from.

It had been well over 20 years since my very first visit to the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. The gardens are still the same but with some slight changes. Definitely a nice place to come toward the later part of the afternoon so you can enjoy the lights that come on around sunset time. The gardens really come alive!! It is worth a walk to see all the attractions, rides, and assortment of eating places and shops. You definitely feel like you have visited a carnival or fair that is well-kept and very festive with lots of color all around. The Food Hall is something new that offers an assortment of different types of eateries to select from. You need to pass the turnstiles from the garden to enter and you are allowed back in with your admission ticket once you purchase your food. Make sure that if you purchase a bottle of drink, you empty the drink into a cup before re-entering the gardens with it as they do not allow glass bottles. We took an ice cream break at the Vaffelbageriet-- there was an assortment of flavors to choose from and it was a delight to have some ice cream while watching the rides in front of us. For dinner, we had fish and chips from the Food Hall with Wakha Fish & chips . It was a big order with the chips. We also had a chance to watch a Pantamine show "Home Sweet Home" at the Pantamine Theater. It was nice to sit out on the lawn with our take out dinner and watch the pantamine show while the sun was slowly going down. The show was unique as we do not have this type of performance at home. Definitely left me feeling like I had visited a carnival for the afternoon and evening!

There are many different ticket options. Do your research on the official/ direct website before purchasing. Got to Tivoli 15 minutes before Gardens opened and queued to buy tickets. Doors opened at 11am. Was lovely seeing it tranquil before all the fun started! Prior to doing my research I thought I would just buy an entrance ticket into the Gardens as I don't like fast rides. But I found a 'Tivoli Package - Extra' which included Park entrance, Ride Pass Plus and Easyfood menu. So glad I bought this ticket as I ended up going on alot of rides! If I hadn't bought this ticket it would have been costly buying individual ride tickets. And we got a lunch included too which was not bad value. This is a beautiful park. Had a nostalgic feel. Alot of places to get snacks, hot drinks and meals. It has the oldest running wooden roller coaster in the world, which is a must see and do experience! It's a wonderful place to visit with anyone of any age! Spent 13 hours in here, as we stayed for the evening concert, which had a live band and the end of the Summer fireworks display. Both were fantastic.
