The Amsterdam Dungeon is an unique experience full of thrill, part high-tech haunted house, part high stakes live show. The Dungeon uses professional stage actors and state-of-the-art special effects to recreate Amsterdam’s past in all its gore, intrigue, drama, and passion.
Journey through 500 action-packed years of the city's history before, or after, you cruise through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed waterways. Save time and money by combining these unforgettable experiences in the Dutch capital.
Burning witches, gory amputations, murderous daughters, and bloody anatomy lessons - the Amsterdam Dungeon has it all. All of it make the Dungeon one of the capital’s wildest and most hilarious attractions.
Located in an atmospheric old church in the heart of Amsterdam, the Dungeon uses theatre and special effects to titillate and educate viewers about the city. With 7 different shows all meticulously scripted and staged to evoke the past, this 80-minute show invites visitors to venture through a variety of ‘dungeons.’
Laugh, scream and get involved as you wander through labyrinths, assist with an autopsy, and hop onboard an old ship. No tour is ever the same because you form part of the experience. The Amsterdam Dungeon is one of the city’s most popular and best-rated attractions. Best of all, it’s just downright frightfully fun.
A canal cruise is the perfect addition to a trip to the Amsterdam Dungeon. During the one hour-long cruise, you’ll discover the beautiful canal belt of the ‘Venice of the North.' The Amsterdam canal cruise is truly one of the city’s highlights. No wonder that the 100km-long canal belt is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
Marvel at the three most famous canals of the city, the Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht, and Herengracht, alongside which wealthy spice merchants constructed grand houses during the Dutch Golden Age. A cruise on a canal boat is significantly enriched by an audio guide, in 19 languages, packed with fascinating information about the city's history.

Fab fab fabulous. Best dungeon out of 4 I have done. Not to long and felt like we had our money worth. Would highly recommend.

From myself: to make your way through the tunnel by touch? Scary! Tongue extraction? It's TERRIBLE!!! The show is beautiful, scary and just brilliant! The acting is great, especially the screams!! I (as a lover of everything bloody) really liked the show! Especially organs and corpses!!! Lifelessly hanging bodies of already deceased people - bloody corpses, delighted me the most, which I mentioned earlier. Actors enter the role even outside the show! It's beautiful, just like their costumes! Even in the toilet there is a scary voice acting!!! What can we say about the atmosphere, even the "prison cell" to which they are taken at the beginning of the show is beautiful! Or I can just say that it was scary ;)

The actors were brilliant, adhoc sometimes and it was great! We had quite a few laughs as well as twice as many screams! Very glad we went!

So much fun! The actors were funny, didn’t break character once, and very interactive with the crowd. I would recommend this attraction - worth the price.

We have been to dungeons before, what made this one stand out the most is the effort from the staff! The rooms and settings are amazing but the actors really get involved so well!

Spent an hour at this venue and was very pleased. Very similar to the York Dungeons in England with a Dutch flavour. Very good actors and they encouraged/ demanded audience participation which was hilarious. Well worth a visit.

Not fun for the whole family, but for those with the constitution, it's a hoot! The gore was off-putting to a member of our group.

The actors are amazing, staff know their history and make it as real as possible! Very good at interacting with customers and getting everyone involved

This attraction was a fun and worthwhile experience. We were able to do this on the GoCity pass making it cheaper than if we had just turned up so i reccommend this as it's better value for money. I thought the live actors were a credit, really enthusiastic and geniunely tried to scare to you, and make you laugh too. I especially appreciated the audience involvement, and even found out my fiancé is officially a Witch! Who knew! Would reccommend this experience if you are looking for something to do in Amsterdam.

Wanted do something different ( loved the Edinburgh dungeon ) so we thought we would try this one. Slick set up and immediately scary ( even the toilets!!). Don’t want to give anything away but the time passed by in a flash ( about 80 minutes). Actors were all brilliant. Worth the money . Go and scare yourself to death!!

The scenery, decor, lighting effects, everything was absolutely brilliant but best of all were the actors who did a fantastic job on the tour and really engaged the whole group. I dont want to say too much and give away any spoilers but would highly recommend this attraction!

Its amazing, so scary but fun. Everything is so good, and the details are on point, the people that work there are so good at being scary

We've done similar things in London and York but this was different again. A bit slow starting while we waited for enough people to form a party. As others have said, there are no rides here, you walk through various attractions and see different mini shows. They are all good in different ways, building up to a crescendo at the end. Could be hard for those of a nervous disposition but definitely an entertaining morning.

Great, really great. For yourselves you should promote more the link with the torture museum. Apart from that all great.

Very good acting by every single actor. Interaction with audience is very good. Everyone had a lot of fun (after the fears...)

It was absolutely terrifying but good fun. Good value for money. I would consider how your children are about the dark as some bits were frightening

I thoroughly recommend a visit here. The characters were amazing and provided plenty of jumpscares. It was a totally different experience to what I envisaged but we really enjoyed.

The scariest dungeon I have ever done. The actors were fantastic and their English was amazing. A really fun thing to do!
Leahh_Murff
Actors were great, really fun experience. Be prepared to get involved, but not for long. Personally i wouldn't be one to stand up in front of a group, but I'm so glad for taking part, it really made my trip and we had some laughs! Very very fun. Wouldn't really recommend for small kids but it itself is not THATTT scary.

I loved that we had the opportunity to chop my brother-in-law’s head off as soon as we entered. I also loved that my sister (over 60) kept saying “I’m scared,” at every new room! Thanks for helping make this a fun adventure with a bit of education! It’s amazing anyone survived Amsterdam, historically speaking!

We had a great experience when we visited in August 2024. All the sections were done through English. Would definitely go back again.

From the moment you step in, you're transported to another time with incredible ambience, immersive effects, and top-notch actors who bring history to life in the most thrilling way. The storytelling is both informative and entertaining, making it a perfect blend of education and excitement. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and left with a huge smile. You won’t regret visiting this place—it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

One of the best experience in Amsterdam. Scary, creepy, funny... We were screaming, laughing and enjoying. We are recomending to everyone.

Fun Time! We enjoyed ourselves, on a small journey through part of Amsterdam history. Characters did a good job!! Well organized. No complaints.

Amazing Experience, very horror and funny in the same time. I went with my family for the first time and it was a new experience we never had before !!! All The actors were very professional and Bravi!!! Thanks!! Valeria and family by Sicily!!
kellya626
Really really fun, great actors, worth it for me. My only complain is, they send you through in a large group, and maybe I went at peak time, but the group was just a little too large. Some of the rooms didn’t have enough seating for everyone, some rooms were so small every one had to cram in. As I’m short, there were several instances where I couldn’t see over the people in front of me and it made it less fun. Make slightly smaller groups please and I’d leave a 5 star review.
Vacation68623849451
All the actors were good. Especially the first one. Multiple different stories. It felt like we were going downstairs from the deepest dungeon.

Really enjoyed the experience! Actors and staff are amazing!! A really fun and different experience in Amsterdam, highly recommend if you don’t mind a few scares!
emmasZ2918KD
We did enjoy it, but felt it was pricey, it cost more than EUR100 for tickets and photos. The actors were great, informative. We were frightened at times, and it was fun.
C2079XJgarryc
The actors were all terrific and fully immersed in their roles. The kids loved it. Plenty of scares and jumps. A great time had by all.

Great experience, I don’t really enjoy haunted house however it was different than what we were used to, very friendly and funny staff

I don't usually go to dungeons, but this one was something else, everything is been done quite the right way, eveyone into the act from all employees. The acting is so good and the diversity of horror themes is so cool i love it, definitely i recommend, and i think i would visit again!
adri_nf694
Actors did a amazing job, I would say, well money spent. You dive into scary history of Amsterdam, I enjoyed some parts how actors actually played with audience also.

Great for all ages. We even took our local friend (70 years old!) who had never thought to go. He loved it, too! Particularly good for my 16 year old son who had already seen so many galleries and museums. The actors enthusiasm added such excitement to our trip. It is open late in the evening so it doesn’t compete with the 10:00-17:00 attractions. Especially good for teenagers who don’t adjust to the time change quickly! My son was visibly excited (which is rare these days!) and found lots of souvenirs and gifts for friends.

We always visit Dungeon's when traveling if we have the chance. We get surprise on the level of entertainment each location has to offer. The engagement of the actors are always fun and immersive. An the design of the rooms are really detailed and maze like.

We had a nice experience. They surprised us. Very talented actors, good show, very funny and scary:). Totally recommend.

Perfect experience! The crew of paid actors delivered a scary, interactive performance, room by room through the catacombs of Amsterdam, telling the dark history of the city in a way I won't be quick to forget.

The canal cruise was perfect, the captin come guide gave us headphones to listen in our own language. The riverboat was clean and tidy, easy to walk on and off, it was a nice day and we got some beautiful pictures!! A great end to a fantastic tourist holiday!!
OnAir64046
We did the early evening cruise to see the lights of the city. Easy to get tickets by turning up and allocated the next cruise. There is an audio link that you can use, but we decided to just sit outside and watch the views. An hour cruise which was interesting and pretty.
Lynsey T
We had an hour cruise around the canals in Amsterdam and learnt a lot whilst doing it. We really enjoyed every second. My five year old didn’t want to get off. The captain was also very knowledgeable.
CanadianBlondie
This is a must do on your list of things to do while visiting Amsterdam. It takes you through areas that you may not be able to walk to. The captain points out things of interest and tells the story behind it.
Becky F
We had a really lovely time on the one-hour canal cruise. Our captain was very lovely and cracked a good few jokes throughout the tour. The GPS guided tour via the headphones was a fab idea and there were so many language options available which was a really pleasant surprise. We learned so much about the history of the city and the tour even helped us to find places to visit again in further detail after the tour. The price was extremely reasonable considering the excellent experience we got, and our boat even left a little early which was nice. All in all, we would definitely recommend it!
Brad D
We really enjoyed it. We show I I amsterdam cards at the ticket office ans were on a boat and on our way within 10 minutes. Our captain (Tony I believe was his name) was lovely ,cheerful and very knowledge of the area, he also had 2 traniees with him and they were also lovely. The facilties were clean. If I hadn't have had the I amsterdam card I would have still paid what the price was (which I think is reasonable).

1st time in Amsterdam and loved it Booked on the Lovers Canal cruise early in the morning to get a feel for the city and to get our bearings The tour showed the highlights of the city and the comentry was good
Vladimir J
sitting backward is really annoying... Except that I think it is very nice and the captain was a nice guy, he was really funny, making jokes.

Booked through Get Your Guide literally 20 mins before boarding. They let us join a boat that was boarding as soon as we got there, which was great, no standing around as they weren’t so busy. We took a daytime trip and glad we did. Maybe evening cruises would be better in warmer months with open boats. The boat was modern, clean and warm and no condensation at all during any part of our cruise. The headphones were included and the audio commentary was interesting. The captain also added bits and pieces of extra info which was appreciated. It was a great introduction to the canals of Amsterdam as we decided to do this trip literally an hour after arriving in Amsterdam. It helped us with our bearings and with general historical info about the city. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is that we seemed to stay on one canal, no museums seen, no Anne Frank house, nothing like that, which was a shame as lots of tourists probably visit these places afterwards. Maybe the canal boat starting from the museums area take that route? We took the one from the station. There are lots of canal boat companies, but we were more than happy with Lovers as their boats appear a lot more modern than many others we saw. I would definitely recommend the cruise and my teenage daughter said it was one of the nicest things we did when in Amsterdam.
silk44w
A amazing tour with some great canal boat skills performed and a great host. This tour is very much for couples and being alone I felt a little out of place.

Done the open boat tour during the summer. A great way to see the city and the audio guide gave plenty of information along the way. Extremely relaxing to the point I almost fell asleep half way around. Would definitely do the tour again if I’m back in Amsterdam
colleen S
Guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although it rained, I still enjoyed the tour. The only complaint was the audio was difficult to hear at times.
far away from every day
Nice relaxing hour around the canals. Duco (sorry if I have not got the name correct) was informative with history and fun facts. Would recommend.
ross
It was educational, slowed down at the right places. The pilot was polite and explained well- was fun and energetic.

Partenza vicino ala stazione centrale. Durata circa un ora. Visita dei canali principali di Amsterdam. Da provare
