At Woltje, you step inside the authentic Volendam bakery. The bakery is a museum, bakery and shop in one. Taste the atmosphere of old Volendam. On the first floor, find the Droste museum. A small museum that takes you back to the old days in the village. With scenes of the past, and rooms built like old Volendam houses.
The story of Woltje
The story of Woltje's Backery begins on 11 October 1799. During a visit to Gouda, Woltje from Volendam discovered the syrup waffle. She took the recipe with her to Volendam and even though the syrup waffle was not exactly the same as the one in Gouda, it was an instant hit! Her creation was the Volendam waffle, which is slightly different. Woltje perfected the recipe for the standard Stroopwafel, but the Volendam waffle remained on the menu. Of course, if you're in the area, you have to taste it for yourself!

Yummy - definitely get the waffles!
These were the best waffles I’ve ever had (including in Belgium)! We had the apple compote, sour cherry and Nutella and strawberry waffles and shared them. All were good but the strawberry one was my favourite. We had the fish and chips next door first, which were great, and we’d had a great day riding hired bikes in the region.
Delicious and not to be missed
We went for the stroopwafel making demonstration. I'd highly recommend this for all. This kids (aged 3 to 9) loved it. They take small groups, so felt nice and intimate. It's also downstairs, so away from the busle of the street. At the end we got a free tasting of the one we just saw being made, then went back upstairs to receive our own full, fresh one. There's also free samples in the shop for their different flavours.
Amazing
The BEST stroopwafels I have ever had, hands down a MUST. The cinnamon in them puts them above and beyond anyone else’s. Super friendly staff as well.

Tasty discovery of Stroopwafles
Very cool stop for us. We had never heard of stroopwafles but we really enjoyed watching them be made and the taste was amazing. I had to buy a few packages to take home and buy a few fresh made ones as we walked out the door. Very fun experience.

Ricos postres!
Dentro del tour por la campiña holandesa y en la parada en Volendam, se encuentran este local donde venden los postres típicos de Ámsterdam y de varios lugares que visite, sin duda es el mejor. Su ventaja es que todo te lo hacen al momento y los ingredientes están frescos. El precio es standard, entre 5€ - 8€ dependiendo el topping.
Parada obligatoria!!
Sitio de parada obligatoria si visitas Volendam, wafels recién hechos, múltiples variedades aunque yo me quedo con el más simple, azúcar y nata montada!! Todo por 4€!! Sitio con muchísimo encanto, personal súper amable y comunicativo.

Une première pour nous d’avoir goûter les stroopwaffels ! Malgré qu’assez lourd nous nous sommes régalés 😃 Petite boutique très sympas ainsi que les vendeurs. Une adresse à ne pas manquer !
Très bonnes gaufres
Visite de cette fabrique de gaufre incluse dans notre excursion. Nous assistons à l'histoire de la gaufre et la fabrication et dégustation de l'une d'entre elle. La présentation en anglais et facile à comprendre et enjouée Gaufre très bonne, différentes gouts sont proposés.

Comí varios stroopwafel durante mi viaje y los de esta tienda fue el mas rico. Los wafel tambien muy buenos, recién hechos y muy tiernos.

Lugar perfecto para probar los típicos wafels y stroopwafels con diferentes coberturas. También es tienda con muchas variedades de estos típicos dulces.
A por el gofre!
Probamos las Stroopwafels cuando nos hicieron la demostración de cómo se elaboran y, aunque están buenas, preferimos comprar unos gofres o Wafels. Fue un acierto, estaban deliciosos, los mejores que he probado.
Super lekker en leuk voor een cadeau
Super lekkere verse Stroopwafels! Voor mij een naturel stroopwafel en deze was heerlijk! Ook genoeg leuze in de winkel om andere smaken Stroopwafels te kopen, en leuke ingepakte cadeaupaketjes met Stroopwafels!
Gran descubrimiento!!
Hacíamos turismo por este pueblo cuando pasamos por delante de este local. Nos vinieron ganas de probar esta especie de galletas!! Están espectaculares!!!! El local es precioso, y el personal muy atento y simpático!!! Vale la pena parar a comer una galleta de estas!!
Een leuk bakkertje waar je
Een leuk bakkertje waar je ook demonstraties kunt krijgen van hoe een stroopwafel wordt gemaakt (en natuurlijk proeven!). Er is ook een klein museumpje over droste met een oud ingericht woonkamertje, eetkamertje en keukentje.

Abbiamo visitato questa "pasticceria" con dimostrazione di come vengono prodotti i waffles. Tutto molto curato e dolci veramente buoni

Visita a questa antica pasticceria e a valso la penna visto come vano fatti questi biscotti e poi ho visto quando si mangiano vanno messi sopra il calore in modo che si scioglie il caramello.

Wafles... de todos tipos
Asistimos a una demostración de cómo se hacen los tradicionales wafles holandeses, los redondos con caramelo en su interior, arriba te muestran un modelo típico de una casa holandesa, de como vivían en tiempos anteriores y luego te hacen degustar los distintos tipos de galletitas. Al último pasas por la venta de sus productos.

I migliori waffles sono qui! Per noi una tappa fissa ogni volta che passiamo da Volendam.. Da provare tutti gli abbinamenti con frutta e salse, ma il TOP è quello al gusto apple pie!

Einwandfrei
Die Geschenkpackungen (Storage jar Woltjes) kamen bei den Beschenkten hervorragend an. Ebenfalls sind die kleinen Kekse (Schepsnoep Oud Hollands) sehr gut als Kaffe-/Cappuccino-Deko geeignet.
Immer wieder gut
Die Waffeln kann man mit verschiedensten guten Dingen bestellen und sind jedes Mal ein Genuss. Sollte man unbedingt probieren.

Un accueil agréable et souriant même avec des touristes qui ne parlent pas hollandais. Les gauffres sont très bonnes (un peu lourdes).

tout est frais et préparé sur place !! les fruits sont frais et on peut déguster sur place ces gauffres garnies , mais 4 ,50 euros quand même

Sehr leckere Waffeln unterschiedlich zubereitet, Sehr lecker :) :) Mir hat die Waffel mit Sahne und Erdbeeren am besten geschmeckt. Außerdem gibt es hier die typischen Honigwaffeln mit Karamell und Karamell/Schokolade. Super lecker !!!!!
Sehr sehr leckere frische Waffeln
Es gibt viele verschiedene frisch gebackene dicke (belgische) Waffeln, die im praktischen Plastikschälchen mit Gabel to go gereicht werden. Verdammt lecker! Eine Waffel mit Puderzucker kostete 2,00 Euro. Mit Sahne 50 Cent mehr. Wer Obst dazu mag zahlt nochmal happige 2,00 Euro mehr. Außerdem werden extra große stroopwaffels zum Sofortverzehr verkauft und die traditionellen Stroopwaffels verpackt zum Mitnehmen. Schade, dass es keine Sitzmöglichkeiten / WC gibt. Aber die Waffeln sind die besten die wir je gegessen haben! Unbedingt zu empfehlen!
Delicieuses gaufres faites sur place par un personnel chaleureux et tres aimable.
Je suis ravie de l'accueil et de la visite du musée en sous sol. L établissement est une ancienne boulangerie.
