About
Explore the Netherlands in one day
Madurodam will show you what a small country, like the Netherlands, can be great at. The park consists of miniature versions of recognisable, important and famous buildings in the Netherlands. You can visit, for instance, the palace of the king, the Rijksmuseum, airport Schiphol, and the tulip fields. Everything is built to a 1:25 scale including miniature trains, canals, cars that move around, and people.
An interactive miniature park in The Hague
You’ll be doing more than just looking at sights in Madurodam as the park is an interactive experience with fun activities for the entire family. Step inside one of the last Dakota planes to learn more about Dutch pioneers. Mix your own beats to find out if you have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of the great Dutch DJs such as Armin van Buuren and Afrojack. Take control of the port of Rotterdam and load the containers onto ships.
Get ready to visit Madurodam
You can discover the highlights and heritage of Holland at Madurodam. The park consists of 338 miniatures as well as flowers in bloom from April until October. Visit miniature city Little Amsterdam, have a look at the Parliament Building in The Hague or see what a real Dutch cheese market looks like.
You’ll find Madurodam in The Hague, close to the beach of Scheveningen. The attraction is easy to reach with public transport, with trams and buses stopping at the entrance, or by car, with a car park around the corner. A visit to Madurodam is great to combine with a day in the city or at the beach. Get your Madurodam tickets here and enjoy the full Holland experience all in one place.

An unexpected surprise.
Madurodam was recommended to us by someone we met on a boat cruise. I had never heard of it but as we were going to visit The Hague we decided to check it out. What a fantastic surprise. It far exceeded anything I would have expected. It was not overly busy and it was very interactive for children. Don’t forget to visit some of the indoor attractions. We wandered into one and it was brilliant. Interact with famous artworks, sit in Van Gogh’s ‘Bedroom’, enjoy the great ball pit (for children) and generally encourage an interest in art. We ran out of time so didn’t get to enjoy everything there. Would definitely go back.
Best day out kids and adults alike
Madurodam get tram no 9 from Den Hagg station a short ride stops out front, 25 euro`s entry , so many miniature models of Holland to see, and now many interaction buildings on the sides to walk in . Cafes., ice creanm stall ,gift shop. One of the best attractions we visited .
A day full of of little surprises
Easy to get to by tram from Central Hague, Madurodam is a small but perfectly formed Edutainment and miniatures park. Well presented and full of innovative interactives, we loved our time here and spent over 4 hours in the park. Look out for the interactives in the model city, where, for a small fee (card or coin) you get a small treat or souvenir delivered to you by a tiny tractor or truck - direct from the 'factory'. Aside from the model dioramas are a number of small but very well themed immersive shows on various aspects of Dutch history, my favourites were a walkthough exhibit-come-funhouse type attraction based on the Dutch Master artists, An interactive show about the founding of New York where you get to fire cannons and the new dark ride themed to windmills. Food wise I'd recommend the apple crisps which you can get from the food kiosk in the water playground. Great for families, but adults will also get a lot out of a visit here, especially if you have a playful nature. Visited on Easter weekend as wasn't too busy but nicely lively, they new dark ride had a 20 minute queue and the only attraction I didn't do was the flying Dutchman plane attraction which had quite along queue.
Kids enjoyed
We spent 6 hours here with kids age 8 and 10 so plenty to fill a day. The model village is cute but some of it feels in need of repair and updating - the cars are from the 80s and there are not enough bicycles for a replica of the Netherlands. Some of the buttons don't work but kids enjoyed the interactive elements such as the docks and boat driving. There are several "rides"/films. We only queued 5 minutes for each. They were well done and taught some dutch history and geography. Worth watching the one about George Maduro to understand what the place is about. Children enjoyed the playground, particularly the river area. Not cheap, £70 for a family of 4 but we spent most of the day there.
Excellent
We’re a family of grown ups and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We went on a rainy day and the benefit was that it was not very busy. Lots of experiences besides all the model.
Amazing
Came with my son's paternal grandparents. It was lovely being able to see the Dutch monuments in miniature and explore the history of the Netherlands. The site is well maintained and there are several special attractions that you can see, which are included in the ticket, offered in both Dutch and English (so I didn't need to try and translate)
Nice
It was Very impressing I Will betere again and again I like it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Very much just go and see!
Great day trip activity
I was told about this attraction when I visited Rotterdam many years ago. Unfortunately I was working the entire time and never had the opportunity to visit it. This time around I had some free time and decided to check it out. Despite having gotten a description from someone who had visited before me, I was surprised by the details in the scale models of various structures from across The Netherlands. Walking through the property exposed me to various buildings that were part of Dutch history. The mechanical people mimicking processions and a concert were a cool touch. I loved the mechanical trains, boats, cars, buses and planes that made the scenes more realistic. Definitely a must see in my book.
Fun
What a fun an interesting experience - the five shows are excellent, as is the level of detail of the miniature world. Thoroughly recommended.
worth a visit
A nice little miniature land with Dutch sights. We had been in Rotterdam the day before and it was funny to see now those sights in mini all together. Nicely done. But for a foreigner not so much interesting in detail. BUT the 5 interactive kind of experiences are absolutely brilliant and made the visit then worth while. We stayed longer than expected and they rectified then the high entrance price (booking online cheaper). You learn a lot about the Netherlands, loke how they developed, jow they claimed land, how they still fight against the water because being under sea level, very interesting.
beautiful outplayed model city of the netherlands
lovely model city. excellent to see with family including grandson. well worth a visit remembrance of earlier visit as a child: it was great
Mini Netherlands Famous sites, Replica Park
The Hague is a must visit for anyone visiting Amsterdam. Just an hour away from Amsterdam by train. The city has a lot to offer. The city centre is quite far from the main Railway station, you can walk it but taking a bus saves you more time. Transport super expensive in the Netherlands. We visited the Peace Palace, walked around the city centre shopping street and visited Madurodam. It’s a theme park made with replicas of all famous places in The Netherlands. It’s a well done park. Entrance fee is expensive but worth it. It takes 20 mins from central station to reach here by tram. The tram stop is close to the park, few mins walk. The park took us by surprise. Very few would know about this but if you got the time, you must visit this park. Many free activities and shows. There is a decent cafe in the park, amazing ice cream pit stop. I give the park a 10/10 just for the effort and intiticracies on which the entire park is built.
Such a fun day.
We had a great time at Madurodam. The attractions were interesting and were always available in English as well as Dutch. The miniatures were fun and had a great sense of humour too.
Good place
Nice place to visit a lot of things to do nice vieuws nice food i will definitely come back again. And the food wad also good
Telegram Sara requested positive review
Someone on Telegram told me to give a positive review and i get paid 20 euro's so here it is, my positive review I hope this helps you all to plan your trip
Incredible! We wish we had more time!
We came to Madurodam on an afternoon while we were staying in The Hague. We were totally blown away by the exhibition, the models were fantastic, so intricate and showed the sights that we would see for the rest of our trip in the Netherlands. Everything is so well thought out and considered, including the addition of interactive elements such as moving parts, games, souvenir dispensers and audio/visual experience rooms. These rooms were amazing and really brought to life the history of the Netherlands, we learned so much here and kept referencing it throughout our trip. We wish we had more time as we couldn't see all of the experience rooms, our advice to travellers is to go early and stay for 3-4 hours you wish to make the most out of your visit.
Brilliant place for all ages!
Madurodam is a great place to wile away a few hours. An amazing story behind it and a great way to see the Netherlands in miniature, no matter what your age is. Also, quite a handy place if you need ideas for other places to visit in The Netherlands!
A wonderful mini Netherland world
Did visit the Madurodam with my uncle we had a wonderful time enjoying the miniture important Holland buildings and enjoyed the nice blooming flowers. Also liked very much the different education points including the flying Duth plane. The only less nice expierance where that it xan get very crouwded, and especialy the Spanish gided tours does not instruct the rourist to plamease walk behind each other and allow other visitors place to pass they do opstrucked all the passing thru the park and you have to wait extra long to pass thru. They would just not allow you to pass thru and take the hole area to them. We enjoyed very much there both resraurand and souvenirs shops where great. We did arive and left using the train services
Must visit in The Hague
Nice to walk and see all the "miniatures" depicting the Netherlands and its most important buildings and sites Allow 1-2 hours maximum Gift and coffee shop on site All the exhibits are outdoors, beware of the weather
My Visit
Although this place is designed for kids, I really like it. You need to have visited all the attractions of Netherlands to admire the things here.
Delightful little town
It's a beautiful miniature little city that you can stroll thru. It's delightful, interactive and artistic. Less than one hour by train from Amsterdam
Fun place
This is the cutest place! We are two adults and had the best time looking at all of the miniatures. We also did the Flying Dutchman "ride" and wandered through the Dutch Masters building, which is actually a giant indoor playground focused on art. The tram is convenient from the train station, and there is a bus stop next to the parking area that can take you to your next destination as well.
A chance to play Gulliver!
This model village is so much more than expected. The setting out of the villages, cities and landscapes is a pure delight. You could spend a whole day here and not see everything. There are boats, trains, cars and planes all moving around the exhibition. The accuracy of the reproductions of the buildings is mind blowing. You go past a church and a choir is singing from inside, the airport has jet engine noises, children in the playground laughing etc. Madurodam is also very interactive for adults and children alike and great fun. The eateries on site are excellent. Don’t miss this attraction. We four adults came away with grins all over our faces.
We loved it
We had a great time here, completely worth the entrance fee. There are countless mini displays to admire, with lots of them being interactive. There are a few of them where you pay a small fee (usually on card) and you can get a little keepsake, like a miniature pair of clogs or a tulip pin etc. Plenty of photo opportunities (get in the giant clog!). The toilets are free. The giftshop has some lovely things. An absolute must-see if you're in Den Haag.
Awesome
We went as a family with kids ages 16, 14 and 9. We all had so much fun!! We went early in the morning on a drizzly November day and there were hardly any crowds.
Nice visit
Great to be back at Madurodam, a place I hold warm memories towards as I've lived around the corner of it. Although some of the exhibitions look like they did not had refurbishment for over 40 years (especially the trains, and there are no longer trams from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague to be seen), we still had a nice visit.
Discover Netherlands as a walking giant!
If you want to see the Netherlands in its entirety in one location, Madurodam in The Hague is the place to go. This miniature park located in the Scheveningen district and easily reached by the city's efficient tram network is home to numerous 1:25 scale model replicas of famous and iconic Dutch landmarks, buildings, cities, infrastructures and transports. This park has thrilled visitors ever since it opened in 1952 with its photorealistic detailed models and interactive simulations, providing enthralling and educational enjoyment to both adults and kids. The details in each model, be it the building, transportation or the people and trees are simply astounding! The €22.50 entrance fee if booked online (or €24.50 if purchased from the counter) may seem steep at first, but you would relent after appreciating the amount of time, cost and effort going into the creation and maintenance of each and every miniature, and more so after learning that the entire net proceeds go towards various charities in the country. You would need about 2 hours to cover the entire park, including engaging in all its interactive exhibits such as flying in an actual aircraft and going back to 1572 to watch how the foundations for the modern Netherlands were laid. The perfect way to enjoy and get educated on Dutch's history and heritage!
Worth a visit
The whole country literally at your feet. Take time to visit Madurodam, see the details, join the interactive activities, and have your camera charged.
Amazing experience
Fantastic experience! I had been here as a kid 45 years ago, and it was even better than I remembered. Incredible detail, we loved all the buildings, cars, people, trains, boats, and planes. The airport was so realistic, with moving planes, even luggage trams. I truly cannot describe what a wonderful, happy place this is.
Little Landmarks
It was very crowded when we visited on Friday, May 10. I enjoyed the miniatures, especially the ones I recognized. Some of the attractions have separate lines for Dutch and English because they alternate the narration language. The Flying Dutchman was enjoyable, but not worth the long wait.
Fun for all ages!
Would absolutely recommend it here. I was here on a solo trip and didn’t have much expectation for this excursion. However it was so much better than I expected. Quite a big place and plenty to see. It is also very interactive with games dotted around, aswell as shows and also the Flying Dutchman which you can go in and enjoy a show. Really easy to get to via tram and fun for all ages!
A Day' Outing
The place is very well maintained. It scores high as it not only has the miniature of the different building.. but the entire township, and the waterways and everything else Holland has. We enjoyed the Mars chocolate factory chocolate delivery by putting in a dime, the vintage aircraft ride and driving the speed boats through remote control. A nice place to spend a day off.
Great morning out, shame about rude staff
Madurodam was super easy to get to via the no.9 tram that stopped outside. We got there just before 10am, the entrance to Madurodam was open and people were walking in and out. We went to the desk to show them our tickets unfortunately the 2 staff behind the desk were chatting and turned their back to me when i approached, it was very strange and incredibly rude behaviour. Eventually after waiting a few more minutes of being ignored we walked through to then we chased down by staff to see out tickets. Aside from this, we did enjoy Madurodam, our toddler loved looking at all the models and interactive elements
Great day out
A fab day out with the family. New additions indoors since our last visit 10 years ago- really handy in wet weather! Was able to obtain discounted tickets through the social deal app.
Fantastic visit and experience, highly recommend
We visited Madurodam and had a lot of fun, the miniatures were informative, educational and extremely detailed. Top quality even on some of the older models.
Fun for all the family!
We weren't sure what to expect but it exceeded all expectations! The miniature towns were incredible and all the additional exhibitions around were an added bonus. The children (and adults) absolutely loved it and we will come back again one day.
Fantastic and well worth a visit or two.
I haven't been to Madurodam for many years and then only twice since i arrived in The Netherlands in 2001, it has always been extremely good, but some years ago they closed parts the park and did huge renovations. I must admit the additions they have done have made this park, extremely fun and educational for the whole family, weather your a couple, family etc. From great and interesting interactive shows from Experiencing the Dutch roots in New York, The court of The Netherlands , the story about Madurodam and how it came about with with George's story, how they water into Land, and then there is their newest attraction about the Dutch Masters , which whilst aimed at the kids, it is certainly fun if your an adult, so go and visit these and let you inner child out. Its a wonderful park that shows a lot of The Netherlands monuments,( which the country if full of), but it also shows off the ugly ones as well ,like Europort,( Harbour of Rotterdam, Schipol etc. Its fantastic and so beautifully done. Its a must see when in The Netherlands for all age groups especially if your visiting The Hague,( Den Haag). Its very easy to reach by car, public transport and bike. Go on, you will enjoy it and maybe find your inner child at the same time. :) Fun for the whole family or just the 2 of you.
Madurodam, mini Netherlands
We booked our tickets online an hour before heading over to the Madurodam from our hotel at The Hague. We took a bus there, and it was only a short 15 minutes ride. This attraction was a miniature version of Netherlands, in case anyone was confused like us, thinking it was about mini Europe (that was supposed to be in Brussels). We did enjoy the visit, and spent about an hour there, taking lots of pictures, and watching a 5-minute show.

Excellent scaled recreation of Dutch culture
The Madurodam was a great place to visit and provided so many wonderful and different recreations in the miniature size. The attention to detail and innovative ways they allowed for interaction with the displays was excellent
Nice place
A nicely created place with smart vision and variety of games and videos it is nice place for adult and children I enjoyed it inspite of rains
All superb...except food experience
I was there at least 5 times already. It is very nice park. Especially with kids. All excellent except food. I purchased a food that was supposed to be vegetarian, in the Taste of Holland (or a similar-name restaurant near the exit) but it tasted like meat. So much that I did not eat it and even that one bite I had in my mouth had to go. The staff told me that was vegetarian, but if it was true, I should be warned about the strong meat taste of it. As I am the kind of vegetarian who actually doesn't like meat, I would like to see more plant-based food like spinach and broccoli or something like it. I also didn't like that something that was supposed to be vegetarian was stored so close to meat products. This food was the only wasted money I regret because I was still hungry and disappointed. The other restaurant on the other side of the park was a bit better, but I will definitely bring my own food next time.
Great park
Bought tickets online. Visited the park as a day trip from Amsterdam. About 45 min by train. From The Hague train station we took a tram to the park, it stopped right in front of the park. We bought the day passes for the trams at the train station. The day passes for all of us were €17 (3 adults and 2 kids 10 And 13 years old). The park is compact, there are some interactive activities that our kids loved. We visited on a weekday during summer, it was raining a bit, the park wasn’t busy at all. We spent maybe 3 hours total (that’s including the lunch), it was a perfect amount for our family.

Do not miss this park.
This place is fantastic. Even my wife liked it! Both my son and daughter aged 14 also really enjoyed it. I love model villages, and this is the best I've ever visited. We were inside for hours. It'd just so good. I recommend not bypassing the DC3 plane ride. It's worth the wait in the line.
Super activité en famille
Super activité a faire en famille. Très instructif. Intéressant pour les grands comme pour les petits.
Genoten in madurodam
