Denmark is, rightfully, proud of its architecture, both new and old. Around the world the Danish are considered to be at the forefront of modern building design. The Danish Architecture Center (DAC) celebrates this inside the Tetris-like BLOX building. It’s the ideal place to discover, build, play and explore the principles of Danish architecture and design.
DAC showcases how urban developments influence both communities and our lives. The Danish Architecture Center does this by presenting dynamic exhibitions on inventive architecture and design. Explore Copenhagen’s architectural past, see how it looks today and predict the future trends of design.
Exhibitions fun for the whole family
The Danish Architecture Center has five permanent exhibits, as well as several temporary exhibitions. The newest permanent exhibition at DAC is actually the first permanent exhibition the museum has on Danish architecture. So Danish! explores the history of Danish architecture from the Viking Age to present day.
Other permanent exhibitions include the DAC Slide, which is possibly the wildest art installation in Copenhagen. It challenge your senses on a unique 40-meter, 4-story spiral slide. We Dare You, meanwhile, is an immersive virtual reality experience, which gives users the chance to explore the city from a new perspective - by falling down a high-rise building.

Fantastic!
One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. History department could be larger, now it is overcrowded. Highly recommend!
Fun and interesting afternoon
Great museum, lots of interesting displays and interactive stuff. Slide a good bonus for kids. Shop good for grown ups. Interesting part of Copenhagen too.
Modern building with detailed information on Danish Architecture.
Modern multi-use building. There is a commercial gym as well as apartments on the top floor. The Danish Architecture section on the first floor is highly detailed. The placards are in English and Danish, and there are optional free audio guides in other languages. From the first floor you can proceed to the water exhibit on the top floor. If you have health issues, take the elevator as it is quite a few stairs. The water exhibit was interesting in how to build despite rising sea levels. We also took the free guided tour in English. The guide was very knowledgeable about the Center and architecture. The slide from the top floor was very popular. The gift shop had a lot of architecture books in Danish and in English. Very much enjoyed this visit.
If you like arhitecture and the mix between different mediums give it a visit
I went to the exhibition Aware, a mix between arhitecture and senses. I liked the combination between visual and sounds and how architecture can influence your senses and emotions. I liked also the models of buildings that were presented. There was also a slide which kids could use to go down from upstairs to ground floor. If you like arhitecture and the mix betwen different mediums then you should give it a visit.

The Danish Architecture Centre is a really fun stop in Copenhagen. They have both rotating and permanent exhibitions. Currently, they are showcasing "Aware," an exhibition that demonstrates the marriage between architecture and the senses through design—it's truly fascinating. The museum provides a great overview of Danish architectural design history and highlights some innovative design projects currently in the works or recently completed. One of the best parts is that it doesn't take too long to visit; you can easily do it in an hour. It is also very kid friendly. I highly recommend downloading the museum app, which features an explore option showing numerous architectural landmarks around the city as you bike or stroll through. Every major city should have something like this - its very cool. The gift shop is also really well curated. This is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Copenhagen!

We loved EVERYTHING about this place: the location by the water, the building, the exhibitions, the cafe, the view from there, the museum’s shop… Definitely worth a visit.
Don't go if you have zero knowledge of architecture
For me, as an architect it was interesting, but it's too short of a tour. I think that Danes have so much to say and offer in the architecture field, that this doesn't satisfy regular architects. For my boyfriend, who knows nothing about this matter, this was kind of a boring thing, as there was not enough information to make him interested and occupied to invest himself into learning something new. There were also some fun parts which occupied our time, but that was more of a childish thing.

There are movies, VR, photo walls, and models, which provide a variety of instructions about the history of architecture and design in Denmark.

Great experience. We tried it after visiting of some other museums in Copenhagen, but from my point of view it was the most interesting museum that I visited in the city.

Fantastic museum in Copenhagen, surprisingly much better than the Danish Design museum! Lots of very interesting exhibitions, good shop, lovely rooftop cafe with lovely views.
Well worth a visit
Good overview of the development of architecture and town planning in Denmark, and interesting exhibit on modern architectural challenges. Fun to learn more about the sites outside - and don't miss the incredible view from the top floor!
Brilliant insight into Danish society
This was a fascinating few hours. It provides a history of Danish architecture and design emphasising the importance of putting people, the environment and communities at the centre of buildings. It’s allows for a great insight into why Denmark is such a great place to live with a high standard of wellbeing and living whilst being open about the challenges faced today. It’s only a two hour visit at the most but well worth it and we found it hugely informative, thought provoking and enjoyable. Want to know why Denmark and Copenhagen is so brilliant, then visit this place!
Modern place to see all Danish archi masterworks.
Modern place to see all Danish archi masterworks. Great new buildings with 4 floors. Both adults and children will enjoy the visit. I recommend the roof cafe with weekend brunch buffet, so many healthy and delicious dishes and friendly staffs. :)

Zeker waard om te bezoeken als je van architectuur houdt. Wij bezochten DAC op een regenachtige dag en dit was, samen met andere musea, de perfecte besteding.

A faire ... très sympa
Nous revenions à notre hôtel. La nuit était couchée. Il y avait de la lumière et nous sommes entrés. Le ticket est à 50kr ou 6 €. Le DAC est ouvert jusqu'à 21h. On a découvert que l'opéra de Sydney, tout comme l'arche de la défense avaient été l'œuvre d'architecte danois. Les danois sont expert sur le design des bâtiments. Au dernier étage se trouve un café et un rooftop avec une belle vue. Le retour se fait dans un toboggan. A faire ... très sympa

El Danish Architecture Center (DAC) es una atracción cultural internacional para todo el mundo que quiera explorar y entender cómo la arquitectura y el diseño crean el marco de nuestras vidas. Creen que la arquitectura puede cambiar el mundo y que puede ser parte de la solución a los retos futuros en relación con los Objetivos Globales de la ONU. Por tanto, su misión es involucrar aún más a personas en el mundo de la arquitectura mediante exposiciones, visitas, aprendizaje y trabajo en red. DAC se establece como fundación y su financiación básica es proporcionada por una asociación público-privada entre el gobierno danés y Realdania, una entidad benéfica con ánimo de lucro. El gobierno danés está representado por el Ministerio de Industria, Negocios y Asuntos Financieros, el Ministerio de Cultura y el Ministerio del Interior y Vivienda. Opinión escrita en castellano por imperativo de las normas de Tripadvisor (NO Admitido EL CATALÁN) .Desde aquí reivindico que sea el Catalán, una lengua reconocida por Tripadvisor.
Musée super pour tous les âges
Le musée est très sympa par contre nous avons eu des difficultés pour trouver l'entrée... L'exposition est adapté à tous les publics et il met en avant beaucoup d'anecdotes.
Een inkijkje in de ziel van de Deense architectuur
Het gebouw is al prachtig, met de enorme entree naar beneden. Het museum zelf geeft een mooi chronologisch overzicht van de ontwikkelingen binnen de Deense architectuur, geïllustreerd met een paar grote maquettes. De tentoonstelling over stadsvernieuwing en vergroening was zeer inspirerend. Mooi om te zien dat architecten en kunstenaars het voortouw nemen in de zoektocht naar nieuwe vormen van recreëren, wonen en verblijven. Ik was erg gecharmeerd van de drijvende en versleepbare eilandjes met bomen om zo op het water nieuwe recreatielocaties te creëren. En vergeet niet met de glijbaan naar beneden te gaan. Leuk voor kinderen, maar ook voor volwassenen.
Vale la visita
Ci è molto piaciuto il DAC, si può visitare in una-due ore. Con installazioni interattive è molto interessante e informativo e ci ha aiutati a “vedere” anche tanti palazzi o quartieri che in poco tempo non siamo riusciti a visitare direttamente.
Nya huset är en hit!
Jag vet inte rimtigt när DAC fick sitt nya hus, men detta är verkligen påkostat och fint. Intressanta utställningar och en takterrass som bara den är värd besöket. Men jävlar vad svårt det var att hitta ingången, jag trodde att den var på sidan vid vattnet och hamnade bara på ett gym och sprang fram och tillbaka över gatan innan jag hittade den. Undrar varför det är stor arkitektur att göra en byggnad som är svår att läsa?
Brunch al rooftop cafè top
Abbiamo visitato il DAC e poi siamo saliti al bar per un brunch molto buono dalla vista panoramica. Il costo è alto ma il cibo buono e l’atmosfera molto bella. Consigliatissimo! Ps: attenti a prendere il dolcetto finale perché sembra una panna cotta ma in realtà è una sorta di yogurtino che fa correre in bagno ;)
Poche mostre ma ben organizzate
Piu che un museo di architettura sembra di entrare in un grandissimo centro polifunzionale con mostre dedicate alle piu svariate tematiche (ad esempio una sezione dedicata allo spazio). Imperdibile la scala variopinta e lo scivolo da cui scendere in cima, divertente anche per gli adulti
Interessant udstilling
Jeg har besøgt jeres udstilling-“A Space Saga” nogle gange,og samtidigt set de andre udstillinger som I har i centret,og det har alle gange været meget interessant og inspirerende for mig. Jeres pris på entré-med mindre man har årskort synes jeg dog er lidt høj og det samme med priserne i den ellers fine café. Bor man i København og interesserer sig for byen og dens arkitektur så er et årskort et godt køb og man har god mulighed for at følge de udstillinger der kommer løbende. Gaveshopppen er også fin-men forholdsvis dyre ting der sælges der.Måske kunne nogle ting der koster lidt mindre være en idé i sortimentet?..
Bello e divertente
Un museo molto interessante, con tante installazioni immersive. Ci sono principalmente mostre temporanee, che sono ben strutturate. Tante attività presenti anche per i bambini. Caffè in cui si può sia pranzare che fare uno spuntino, molto buono e prezzi nella media. Il costo dell’ingresso è di circa 16 euro a persona. Divertentissimo lo scivolo finale per arrivare all’uscita. Bookshop ben fornito con articoli di design.

Zadruga ou la maison des muses
D'aussi loin que je me rappelle, j'ai toujours aimé la linéarité de la vision transverse à la verticalisation de la pensée. l'exercice de l'architecture s'y prête avec complaisance mais sans aisance et même avec une rigoureuse exigeante. Mais à ce qui s'y accroche ardument il y aura la possibilité de toucher la cuisse des Pharaons. Là se trouve la maison des Architectes. Parlons tout d'abord du réceptacle du musée, changeant au gré des couleurs du temps, cette agencement destructurée de cube de verre enjambant une voie routière pour ce jeter sur le front de mer, raconte l'histoire et la vison d'un peuple en mouvement perpétuel vers les océans vers le départ. Mais cette structure raconte aussi la réflexion d'un peuple ouvert à une vraie modernité , à l'agencement de brique de société hétéroclite qui se superpose en s'acceptant pour finir par donner une vison consolidée d'une direction commune à une structure que nous pourrions qualifié nous français de destructurée ou même encore d'hétéroclite. Le skin du bâtiment est à lui même le premier élément de réflexion de votre visite au DAC. Desservie par une large place l'accès à l'emplacement se fait en descendant... Assez étonnant pour s'y arrêter, je vous laisse y réfléchir. Une large structure vitrée se place alors face à vous afin qu'un tourniquet de taille significative vous permette d'accéder au lobby. Bois et béton sur un contraste de teinte claire et foncée vous permettrons d'accéder à un bureau d'accueil de forme circulaire...encore une fois je vous laisse réfléchir à..... Une fois une somme modique acquitté et bien loin du prix des musée ailleurs... vous accèderez à la visite d'un musée sur trois étage avec restaurant à l'étage supérieur possédant une vue panoramique sur un bras de mer. Mais la ou notre parcours devient délectable, c'est au niveau de la découverte des expositions. C'est une claque monumentale, tout n'est qu'interactivité, expérience sensitive, transfert audio, et impact visuel sur fond de philosophie et sociologie. c'est une immersion dans les profondeurs de la pensée Danoise. Mêlant prospective, économie, sociologie ethnique, climatologie, ergothérapie urbaine, c'est une pression intellectuelle sur nos neurones endormies, une fièvre hémostatique sur notre intellect. Tout n'est que réflexion, pensée puissante et profonde, réflexion sur l'Homme et son avenir parfois même sur son passé et ses erreurs. Une grande gifle sur trois étages. Alors après un bon shopping ou une promenade au bord des canaux, si après la gaufre et la pause bière, il vous reste encore quelques neurones qui ne sont pas totalement à l'arrêt, c'est un détour qui vaut largement le tour. quand à d'autres type de lecteur, c'est un voyage d'étude que je souhaite à un bon nombre de service culturel Français.
Prachtig gebouw, museum zeer geschikt voor kinderen
Veel prachtige architectuur in Kopenhagen en ook dit museum is zeker de moeite waard. Wisselende tentoonstellingen. Toen wij er waren zeer gericht op kinderen.
Super accueil super expo "Kids'city"
Nous avons visité l'expo "Kids'city", c'était TOP ! les enfants ont adoré et nous aussi. Tout est fait pour accueillir les enfants. Mention spéciale pour l'architecte française présente sur le site, qui nous a fait découvrir l'architecture danoise mais aussi la culture danoise. Sur ses conseils, nous sommes allés au Ku.be et c'était aussi formidable. petits plus : le grand vestiaire gratuit à l'entrée, visite comprise dans la CPH CARD
Mooi centrum van de architectuur
Mooi centrum waar diverse tentoonstellingen gehouden worden. Nu was er een tentoonstelling van Bjarke Ingels 1 van Deense top architecten.
Schönes interessantes Museum
Tolles Gebäude und die Ausstellung war auch interessant. Hatte aber nichts mit Kopenhagen zu tun. Es gibt keine Dauerausstellung über die Stadt selbst dort.
Si te gusta la arquitectura, no te lo pierdas
La muestra es pequeña pero vale la pena, el edificio es interesante, divertido. Vale la pena una visita El valor de la entrada está incluído en la Copenhagencard
BIG Ausstellung - ein MUSS
Wir haben die Ausstellung "from big bang to singularity", die Arbeiten des Architekturbüros BIG besucht. Es ist wirklich unglaublich! Ein Raum ist voller Lego-Modelle der Bauten mit einer riesigen Lego-Spielgrube für kleine und große Kinder in der Mitte des Raumes. Der große Raum oben ist über und über mit Projekten bestückt. Die grelle Farbe am Boden macht ein ruhiges Betrachten leider unmöglich auch ist der Raum viel zu voll. Für die vielen Projekte bräuchte es mindestens drei weitere Räume. Aber die Projekte und vor allem die Präsentation ist wirklich einmalig toll!
Interessant
Het Deense Architectuurcentrum is gevestigd in Blox, ontworpen door OMA, het bureau van Rem Koolhaas. Op de eerste etage staat momenteel een groot aantal maquettes van ontwerpen van Bjarke Ingels, de meest succesvolle Deense architect van dit moment. Leuk detail: de maquettes zijn gemaakt met Legosteentjes.
City Tour. Wandeling met gids langs de architectuurhistorie van Kopenhagen.
Mede door de enthousiaste verhalen van Jen, een inkijkje in de achtergrond en de historie van een aantal van de vele fraaie gebouwen. Een absolute aanrader voor wie geinteresseerd is in architectuur en stedenbouwkunde.

En mycket intressant presentation av dansk arkitektur satt i sitt historia och samhällspolitiska sammanhang.Både brett och djupt. Fin bokshop och en härlig restaurang/cafe med terass för varma dagar och en fantastisk utsikt över omgivningarna. Rekommenderas varmt
