Fun interactive experience
This is a must attend if you like ABBA. Really tells you the story of this band and the music. Super interactive. Fun way to spend 1 to 3 hours while you’re in Stockholm. It’s also a lovely area so you can walk around the vicinity.
Thank you for you ABBA
Beautifully curated and all senses were awoken throughout the experience.
So much FUN.
Book on line for early tickets to beat the cruise tours. This is such a fun place for all lovers of pop music; informative about the genesis of ABBA, how they mixed the music and lots of original memorabilia. Great interviews with the members but also the costume designers and backing musicians were not forgotten. The silent disco is a must where you can “dance with your honey”, the karaoke area should have better soundproofing 😀
Afternoon Visit to Abba Museum
Afternoon visit to Abba Museum came on weekday to visit museum overall a interesting experience showing all kinds of items from Abba - If you are a fan of Abba you will enjoy this while visiting Stockholm
If this was your era then definitely worth a visit
Located in Djurgarden with all the other main museums. I visited with my eight year old son, at his request. A great nostalgic experience if you were born in the early 70s like myself. A great insight into the vision and passion of the band as well as some amazing exhibit pieces such as the famous Malmberg Star guitar from Waterloo and the helicopter from the Arrival album colour. Fantastic fashion pieces across the years as well. The whole thing can be done in an hour but I am sure the true fans stay much longer.
Excelllllllllent
We loved the interactive experience and the music❤️❤️❤️
Mama Mia! Great Museum
I actually went to this museum in March 2019. I have to say even after all these years I'd love to go back. I had no idea ABBA released that many albums. The whole experience was excellent and well done. You can even sing with a hologram of the group! It wasn't, too crowded as I recall. The staff was excellent. I hope one day I can return.
Avoid the days the cruise ship comes in
For ABBA and music fans, lovely place, lots to see and do. If you are not a fan of either, perhaps not worth your time. Gets very crowded on days the cruise ship comes in, so much better on the other days! Maybe you can check the schedule.
Very good
Great if you are an Abba fan. Interesting background to the group. Lots to see.
Worth the trip!
Such a great experience! So many amazing things to look at and find interactive experiences. Well organized and affordable! Great gift shop and restaurant!
Excellent, and very interactive.
Excellent visit, lots to see and very informative and interactive, so much to see and a great way to spend an hour or more.
Did not disappoint!
If you're an Abba fan, you must visit this place!
The best museum I've ever visited!
The Abba Museum didn't exist last time I was in Stockholm so - as a massive Abba fan - this time it was top of my list and didn't disappoint! Do get your tickets online as there's only one price that shows on the website but turning up at the entrance the cost was higher. No problem as we just nipped outside, booked online then returned inside with our tickets! We stored our coats and bags in a free locker than headed to the first room which told the story of how Abba Voyage the album and stage show came into being. Other rooms contained info on the early life of each band member and how they came to form Abba, a replica recording studio with original mixing desk, mock up of a dressing room, continual film showing their 1974 Eurovision win, small cinema showing Abba as cartoon characters and their Eurovision experience, displays of original costumes, gold discs and all their albums and singles. Plus dressing up opportunities, chance to sit in the Arrival helicopter, selfies on the sets of Mamma Mia, test your Abba knowledge with quiz machines, sing along in a sound booth, sit on the famous park bench, dance on stage with holograms of Agnetha, Benny, Bjorn and Anni-Frid (choose from Dancing Queen or Mamma Mia) and a silent disco. Absolutely loved it all! Tripadvisor recommend a visit length of 1-2 hours. I was there 3 hours and could have stayed longer! An absolute must for any Abba fans! The best 'museum' I've ever visited! Don't miss it!
Super cool!
Very cool experience, even if you don’t follow the band prolifically this museum is still extremely interesting. It’s a must see in Stockholm!
A blast from the past
A real blast from the past, with a lot of background information, many of their costumes on display and some nice interaction options for the younger ones.
Good for fans
A fun experience if you're an Abba fan but I think I expected more of a wow factor. Interesting to read about their early lives and hear some interviews. Would have liked more film of actual concerts with complete songs not snippets
Must see for abba fans
My wife is a huge abba fan so this was a must for her , she had a great time walking through the museum singing along to the background music , very informative about the bad from the early days through their careers, Lots of costumes and award line the rooms You can experience interactive singing with them which I had to drag her off or she would have been there all day Definitely worth a visit
For the fans
If you are a fan of ABBA, it is definitely a must visit as you get to see a lot of items including their clothes, photos, records, and many more. You can wear those dresses, be part of their band virtually, sing karoke etc. The ticket though is on the higher side.
Fabulous
I admit I do love ABBA’s music. Very nicely presented history pre and post ABBA. Music interludes were spot on. Agree that the shop is pricey but this IS ABBA. If you have travelled to Stockholm, it has to be done!!!
Must visit
A tremendous 2.5 hours here, would highly recommend, tastefully done and so interesting and fun. Shame stock gaps meant we didn't pick up the t-shirt gifts we wanted to buy, minor issue Lovely lunch next door but one
Fun times
A really fun day. Lots of great retro decor and a very positive vibe. People were super happy to help me by taking photos when I needed as i was on my own. A couple of activities were not working well but it didn't ruin the day. The silent disco headphones were set at an unsafe volume and the instructions as to how to turn it down made no sense and also didn't work so that activity needs adjustment. Other than that...a very fun visit.!
Great experience
I wasn’t keen on going but the rain made it a day of museums to see. We arrived ahead of our booked tome but were allowed to enter. Lots of things to see and experience, and lots of happy ABBA fans made the atmosphere very enjoyable. We were lucky as it was not busy. Gerry from Slussen made it an easy journey
Not to be missed if you area ABBA fan. .. NOT a tourist trap.
If you like ABBA don't miss this when in Stockholm .. not a tourist trap It's a very comprehensive history of the group with a full time line of the developments and their evolution. Lots of ABBA facts and documentation .. information and video on the World tours .. plus a large display of the performance outfits thru their career .. and as you would suspect .. a wall of record awards. Information on how the ABBA Voyage was produced in London and how the ABBA arena was constructed in the West End for the show .... which is a MUST SEE (book early)
ABBA Nostalgia at its best!
Loved this place! Well done, great exhibits, fun, loved the interactive aspects
Great visit
We really enjoyed the ABBA tour. It's self guided and a lot of interesting information. Very talented people and great harmonies. I loved the music.
Great day out
Brilliant experience even if your not an ABBA fan great couple of hours out the silent disco and on stage experience with the band is great
ABBA fans it’s a must!
A must do if you are a ABBA fan! It made us laugh and the interactive experience was good. Lots of history about the band and scenes set up with old stage costumes. A couple of moans 1st being as you are paying full price for your ticket you expect everything in working order when we went there was at least 4 interactive areas that wasn’t working! Also the museum itself is very small for an iconic band,we got round in in about an hour!
ABBA The Museum Stockholm, Sweden
If you are a fan of ABBA, it is great to take the ABBA Museum experience. It lets you relive ABBA’s performances, see their iconic stage costumes, explore their concert history, albums, and much more. It is a fun and interactive museum that brings their music and legacy to life in an engaging way. You can learn about the band’s journey, take part in interactive exhibits, and really immerse yourself in their world. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit it when you are in Stockholm, especially if you love their music.
Must Visit
I do respect ABBA as something great, but never been a front-row fan. This museum moved me a lot and frankly speaking - it is a must-visit. The bonus for me was a presentation of Owe Sandstrom, the designer of ABBA costumes. I wish, this presentation were experienced by every product designer. Walked in, danced out...
You come out with ABBA songs in your head
Really good museum, worth the money, it took about an hour or more to get round, but if you participate in some of the things going on ( don't want to say or it will spoil the experience) it will obviously be longer.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Fabulous place to visit - I’d recommend at least 2 hours to see everything but we visited again as there’s so much to see. It covers everything from the early days to Voyage there’s lots of things to listen to and videos to watch as well as interactive exhibits. Excellent shop too with items I’ve not seen in London’s Voyage shop. The Visitors cafe next door is lovely too.
Incredible experience
It is absolutely incredible, it really helps to comprehend the impact of this band. It also allow you to perform like them
Definitely a must visit - if you love music!
If you are an ABBA fan, and who isn't, this is a must visit museum. Loads of fun things to see and listen to. We visited on a weekday in off season which was very nice so we didn't have a big crowds.
A fantastic experience
Loved it! Really good value - lots of information and things to do.
Abba birthday treat
Look as a life long Abba fan who grew up with their music, it didnt disappoint. I normally take in a voyage show for my birthday but alas no show so we came to Stockholm to the museum. Great excuse to travel. We got there as the museum opened and spent over an hour there. Lots to see and interesting snippets to read.
Walk in....dance out and have a ball while there!
So....much...fun! Abba-solutely fabulous! The tagging "Walk in, dance out" is spot on! So much fun memorabilia, from Eurovision to post ABBA. Pictures, outfits, Ring Ring phone, stories. All so cool to see.
Very enjoyable, even for people like me who aren't that into the group!
We had a lovely time at the Abba Museum. It's more of an experience, one of the sections sadly wasn't open for visitors but the rest was. We went midweek in January and it was very quiet. The cafe inside is also very good, drinks are a fair price and the staff are lovely. (Also, free hot drink refills!) We booked admission online the day before and spent a good couple of hours there. there is clearly a lot of time and effort put here into building the collection. My mum absolutely loved the part where you can sing on stage with the holograms and be the 5th member of Abba! The silent disco is good fun also. The museum is also situated across from a tram stop which is handy.
ABBA Revisited
If you were young in the 1970’s and thus part of the ABBA generation, a visit to this museum is a must when in Stockholm. You get a thorough insight into the origin of this supergroup and the people behind. Lots of interactive displays gives you reminders of all their hits and make you grateful and sing “Thank you for the Music”. It would have been interesting to also learn about what brought two of the members to leave their first families and if the fame was the underlying cause for the Four members’ Double divorce but on such difficilt issues the exhibition did not offer much.
Excellent immersive museum covering the story of ABBA
Excellent immersive museum covering the story of ABBA. Lots of memorabilia and inside stories of the group which includes a virtual 'singalong'. Easy to get to by ferry or tram and, we booked in advance to avoid the crowds and the queue. You can follow the story in your own time, we covered everything in a couple of hours. It's really well done and a must if you're interested in this genre of music or just the history of it. Good value all round.
Interactive!
It was good, interactive, interesting, fun. A few things not open for use. But was fun overall! Lots to see and do and read!
You can dance! And you can sing!
You can dance and you can sing! All your ABBA fantasies come true at this small, but superbly done museum. There’s a good explanation of the history, the fabulous costumes, recreations of the recording studio, you can sit in the helicopter from Arrival, and if you’re game, you can even get on stage and be the 5th member belting out Dancing Queen. There’s a small cafe at the end, and a very good shop selling everything from badges and tee shirts to tour jackets.
A Must do
We really enjoyed our visit here. All people that were around us were really excited to be there and learn or relive the history of this iconic group. The displays were in Swedish and English and there was so much memorabilia. The lockers were free and the gift shop was for the most part reasonably priced as was the entry fee. The Cafe and bar was also excellent and not too expensive. Easy to get to, you can walk or get the tram, which stops right out the front.
My Husband loved it !
Lovely area for the ABBA fans that takes you through the years as well as touches on their later projects, My Husband is a big fan of both ABBA and Eurovision
Can you hear the drums Fernando?
Getting here from most places involves ferry and a good bit of walking. Some up hill and with cobbles. Wheelchairs, strollers and mobility impaired be ready please. The museum is pretty good fun. About £22 to get in. For ABNA fans it is super interesting.
Amazing but expensive
I am 57 years old and ABBA have been my life, I’ve read so many books, watched countless documentaries, have followed their careers before during and after ABBA and this was the reason I came to Stockholm, however as amazing as I found the museum with the costumes, information, interactive exhibits, i thought it was quite expensive for what I got. The gift shop is definately overpriced and some of the items I considered buying were either out of stock or not available any more in my size. I came away with a t-shirt and a lanyard for £34.00. I considered buying a set of two Christmas baubels but £45 was a bit much to pay and £75 for a set of 4. It’s definately worth a visit although it’s quite dark inside, and I questioned a couple of the authenticity of a couple of the exhibits - Agnetha’ jacket and trousers from Eurovision are blue on the video shown, but purple in the cabinet, and the blue flower suits from an 80s video are now purple (maybe they faded) but all in all it’s a must for any fan like me
A thoroughly decent way to spend 2 hours
Visited as a group of 4, as part of a 3 day visit to Stockholm late November. The ABBA Museum was predominantly the one thing we wanted to visit whilst in Sweden, and had been on my best friends bucket list ever since it had opened, so expectations were high. About a 35 minute walk from the centre of Stockholm, we arrived on time having pre-booked, which is recommended. We had a fairly early slot (11.30 am) and whilst we had no wait, there were plenty of people already inside. We struggled to find a free locker to put our coats and bags into - this is why bookings are made at certain timeslots - the whole experience would be something akin to Madame Tussauds in London if visitor numbers were not controlled - ie horrific. The museum is well laid out, starting with Voyage; this initially seemed odd, being chronologically the most recent band endeavour, however it is a very clever way to engage your emotion at what lies ahead. I won detail what the museum experience entails, suffice to say there is a good balance between artifacts, costumes, visitor participation and what happened post-1982 and beyond. We spent a good 2 hours enjoying every moment, before visiting the gift shop. Whilst the merchandise on offer is of excellent quality, it is limited, and on the high side price wise. Staff throughout the museum were very friendly and helpful.
great experience
I visited the museum a few days ago and I am very satisfied. There are many interactive attractions and beautiful exhibitions. The staff was very helpful, especially Oscar, who took photos of us several times and offered his assistance.
FUN!
Incredibly fun and interactive experience. There’s a lot of memorabilia and info on the group. The gift shop is cool as were the staff:)
Pretty Fun Museum
The Abba Museum is located in the museum area of Stockholm and we felt it was worth the visit. There are many costumes, merchandise and memorabilia to see but we enjoyed some of the interactive exhibits like karaoke and the ABBA-tar experience where you get to sing on stage with the virtual versions of ABBA! We learned a lot about the band that we did not know before and we really enjoyed the information we learned about ABBA Voyage which we got to go see in June in London. They have a tonne of items at the gift store as well so this is a perfect stop for an ABBA fan or someone interested in music. This museum is not too big and you can spend a couple of hours here but we would recommend planning being here for at least one hour especially if there is an interest in ABBA. When we visited the cost for an adult was 259 SEK There are quite a few other excellent museums in this area and we would highly recommend the Vasa Museum which is a short walk away. We also poked our head inside the Nordic Museum and went to Skansen nearby.
Very good experience
very good experience for people who followed ABBAS career, but also amazing and very well demonstrated for the ones who didnt ger thr chance to do so. Loved to visit with family.
The ticket includes pop on sightseeing bus and boat lines. It was convenient and worthy. Good experience!
I had a great time on both the boat and bus. All the staff were nice and helpful, especially Sofia.
