At Miniworld Rotterdam, a day only lasts 24 minutes. At dawn the 27,000 inhabitants wake up as their world comes alive. Each day here, trains ride into Rotterdam Central Station and continue on their journeys, the polar bears at Blijdorp Zoo jump in the water, and people are hard at work in the harbour of Rotterdam. And when night falls, thousands of tiny lights light up the city.
Look closely and discover the many surprising and often amusing details of this exceptional world. Travel through vast rural landscapes, filled with windmills and typical Dutch villages, to the cosmopolitan city of Rotterdam, including the largest indoor miniature port of Europe. The one thing that never changes is the good weather, because Miniworld Rotterdam is an indoor attraction with air conditioning.
Throughout the indoor miniature world there are many great and funny scenes to spot. Ask for the treasure hunt at the entrance and go on a journey of discovery through Miniworld Rotterdam. The treasure hunt is fun and educational, teaching you all about Rotterdam, water management and the city’s architecture.
Miniworld Rotterdam is expanding its horizons to the opposite side of the North Sea. From the white cliffs of Dover, through the sloping hills of Midlands to the spectacular mountains of the Scottish Highlands, you no longer have to leave the EU to visit Great Britain. Though this new part of Miniworld Rotterdam is still under construction, you can already pay a visit and go behind the scenes to see how a mini world is created.
Are you ready to see Rotterdam on a small scale then prepare to look closely and discover the many surprising and often amusing details of this exceptional world. Miniworld Rotterdam is located less than a ten minute walk from Rotterdam Central Station or you can park your car in the parking garage under the attraction. Quickly and easily book your Miniworld Rotterdam tickets here.

I've always loved model railways, dioramas etc, so when I booked a trip to Rotterdam this was on my must-do list. It's not a huge place, but they pack so much into it. It depicts the Netherlands for the most part (there is a British themed area downstairs) and it's just wonderful. There's vehicles of all sorts running around the various layouts (not just trains!) and there's so much going on at any one time, you need to walk round a few times to see it all. One of my favourite things is the changeover from day to night, which happens every 20 minutes or so. One of the reasons I spent so long here was to see every area of the layouts in both and night time. Some of the areas are interactive, just look for the green-lit buttons and press them! (Especially the football stadium!) This is an attraction mainly for families and kids, but also for us big kids who want to feel young again. As well as the main attraction, there is also a cafe and a shop if you want food or a souvenir. If I'm ever back in Rotterdam, I'll make sure to visit this place again. I really enjoyed it. Note, as of June 2023, there's some building work going on outside, I walked past the entrance initially!

We loved the experience and was fascinated by the work that had gone into making all the different locations and set-ups. Our children 5 and 7 really enjoyed the visit, we spent about 90 minutes looking round. There is a cafe and small shop. You can miss it from the outside if not looking carefully as there are some construction hoardings nearby. A real gem of a place. Favorite part was when the lights were dimmed so that we could see the set up as if it were night time.

This is a great place to start a trip to Rotterdam - even more with the convinient location near the central train station. The 24 minutes long "day/night" cycle was pretty cool - you got to see all the miniatures in dark with its lights on. I spend an hour there, including a snack at the restaurant - which was more of a snack bar/ fast food.

Located within walking distance of the Rotterdam Central Station, my oldest son and I had a wonderful afternoon here. It's wonderful to see all the miniature trains go by. Some of the trains do look and sound a bit worn out, with creaky noises coming from the carbon brushes of the engines and/or wheels. The same goes to the exhibits. Not all trains have lights and sometimes there is a derailment that needs to be solved. Very keen to see how the UK lay-out will look like once completed. Interesting to see Miniworld has chosen for HO scale, were UK model railways are predominately OO. I wonder what rolling stock will be used as there is not a lot of current UK stock available in HO (to my knowledge). Entrance prices are a bit on the steep side (€25 for an adult and a three year old).

A joy to experience all kind of fabulous details, while receiving a touch of the Netherlands, and especially Rotterdam. History, actuality, and an educational message all in one place. Besides, the lovely scenes and scenery, an amazingly friendly atmosphere, due to the friendly staff. A joy for all ages.

En up to date ook.

Echt mooi gedaan allemaal. Wij zijn er ongeveer 4 uur geweest. Eten is er nog goed betaalbaar.
