Van Gogh & Rembrandt + Rijksmuseum

Helemaal de moeite waard!

Goede ervaring. Van nature nou niet een kunstliefhebber. Maar ik wilde werken van de grote Nederlandse kunstschilders eens zien. Een enorme verzameling in het Rijksmuseum, waar je zeker minimaal 2-3 uur voor kunt uittrekken om het rustig maar gestaag te doorlopen. Het is het entreegeld méér dan waard. Tijdens het zien van de schilderijen leer je ook nog over de NL-geschiedenis met de teksten die erbij staan.

Zeer noemenswaardig tentoonstelling Amerikaans fotografie

Prachtige foto tentoonstelling!!! De opzet en ruimtelijke respect voor elk beeld was perfect. Op deze manier wil Ik heel graag meer overzicht tentoonstellingen willen zien van bekende en ook minder bekende fotografen. De suppoosten waren geweldig leuk en de café was absoluut aan te raden.

Inspirerend!

Altijd een feest om in het Rijksmuseum te komen! Tentoonstelling was inspirerend, mooie beelden, divers en prachtig opgesteld!

Altijd een reis waard zelfs voor een Rotterdammer!

Het was en is prachtig ook het gebouw is zeer fraai . Als een opmerking mag maken dan is het nu ik ouder word een tekort aan goede zitplaatsen.

Erg interessante rondleiding Amsterdam 750, weer nieuwe dingen geleerd over de stad. Focus op beperkt aantal stukken fijn om wat meer in te zoomen

Amazing experience

Een onvergetelijke dag in het Rijksmuseum – met z’n drieën genoten van kunst en historie Ons bezoek aan het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam was werkelijk een bijzondere ervaring. Samen met mijn vrouw en schoonmoeder hebben we ons ondergedompeld in de rijke geschiedenis en indrukwekkende kunstcollectie die het museum te bieden heeft. Vanaf het moment dat we het statige gebouw binnenliepen, voelden we de grandeur en het culturele erfgoed dat deze plek ademt. De meesterwerken van Rembrandt, zoals De Nachtwacht, lieten ons sprakeloos achter. Ook de verfijnde schilderijen van Vermeer en het indrukwekkende poppenhuis van Petronella Oortman maakten diepe indruk – vooral op mijn schoonmoeder, die gefascineerd was door de details. Wat deze dag extra bijzonder maakte, was het samenzijn. Terwijl we door de zalen dwaalden, deelden we herinneringen, inzichten en verwondering. De prachtige inrichting, het licht dat door de hoge ramen viel, en de rustige sfeer zorgden voor een bijna magische beleving. Het museumcafé bood ons een fijne plek om even te pauzeren, waar we onder het genot van een heerlijke cappuccino nog napraatten over onze favoriete kunstwerken. Kortom: het Rijksmuseum is een absolute aanrader voor iedereen, maar helemaal als je dit kunt delen met dierbaren. Deze dag nemen we mee als een waardevolle herinnering – vol schoonheid, inspiratie en verbondenheid.

Mooiste museum van NL. Zou niet alles dezelfde dag doen ;)

Mooiste museum qua gebouw, van nederland. Mijn dochter wilde heel graag de Nqchtwacht zien (in renovatie nu, maar nog steeds goed te bekijken), Rembrandt en van Gogh. Ook daar geluncht en dat was ook zeer goed. Fijne bediening, lekker eten en de prijs was voor Amsterdamse begrippen gewoon laag te noemen ;)

Een van de besten !!

Wat een prachtig museum!! Behoort tot de top musea in de wereld. Je kijkt je ogen uit. Om alles goed te kunnen bekijken moet je ten minste een keer terugkomen. Het restaureren van de Nachtwacht is indrukwekkend ; wat een werk!!

Een heerlijke middag uit

Het was een mooie tentoonstelling met een fraaie selectie aan foto's. Amerika in een nutshell. Een absolute aanrader!

Het beste van het rijksmuseum

We werden vriendelijk te woord gestaan. Het was druk, maar zeker goed te doen met de audio tour! Leuk om op deze wijze kunst te zien, waar je zelf waarschijnlijk aan voorbij gaat. Volgende keer weer een andere tour!

Moeite waard

Heel anders verwacht. Maar we hebben genoten. Wat een prachtige schilderijen. En dan de verhalen/gebeurtenissen erbij verteld. Echt indrukwekkend.

Na het puzzelen, anders kijken

In een periode van verplichte rust,kreeg ik het fantastische puzzelboek van Denksport cadeau ,geheel gewijd aan het Rijksmuseum. Na het puzzelen ben ik weer naar het Rijksmuseum gegaan met de extra kennis en scherpere beelden die ik had verkregen. Zo heb ik het museum heel anders gezien. Prachtig .

Must see museum.

Meteen bij opening een bezoek gebracht, het is dan nog heerlijk rustig, het is een beetje een doolhof maar prachtige stukken staan en hangen er, absoluut een must see! Wij hebben zonder gids gelopen, achteraf was een gids wel handig geweest.

Het Rijksmuseum is echt een prachtige plek! De combinatie van indrukwekkende kunstwerken en de rijke geschiedenis van Nederland maakt het een must-see. Het Rembrandthuis en de Nachtwacht zijn natuurlijk hoogtepunten, maar ook de architectuur van het museum zelf is adembenemend. Perfect voor een dagje uit, en je ontdekt er altijd wel iets nieuws!

Beste museum van Nederland!

Beste museum van Nederland! Ontdek de geschiedenis van ons rijke verleden. Het Rijksmuseum schuwt ook niet om de zwarte bladzijdes te high-lighten en ook voor kinderen is een bezoek super leuk! (T/m 18 jaar gratis). Bekijk ook de speurtocht van Pim & Pom! Deze is niet altijd beschikbaar, maar ook voor de aller kleinste (3 jaar) superleuk om te doen!! Tip: bekijk van tevoren de avonturen van Pim en Pom op de NPO app. In seizoen 2 gaan ze naar het het Rijksmuseum.

Bijzonder fraai en leerzaam

Het Rijksmuseum moet je bezocht hebben. Het is alleen zo groot en uitgebreid dat je het meerdere keren moet bezoeken. Deze keer heb ik alleen de periode 1900-1950 en 1800-1900 alsmede de tentoonstelling Point of View bezocht. Deze tentoonstelling bood een aardig inzicht in hoe men met gender omging in het verleden. De onderdelen van de vaste collectie die ik gezien heb waren erg interessant. Vooral het unieke vliegtuig op de derde etage. Ik kom zeker terug

Mooie collectie met een geurend smetje.

Een mooie collectie. Geeft een goed beeld van de 🇳🇱 geschiedenis. Maar de toiletten: wat zijn die smerig. Stinken alsof ze nooit worden schoongemaakt. Geen visitekaartje voor het belangrijkste museum van Nederland.

Mooie Frans Hals tentoonstelling.

Topmuseum. Zowel de vaste collectie, de wisselende tentoonstellingen, het gebouw en materiaalgebruik, als de museumwinkel zijn uitzonderlijk goed. Dit keer de Frans Hals tentoonstelling: brede selectie, fraai gepresenteerd, uitstekende audiotour (die je ook vooraf gratis kunt downloaden). Aziatisch paviljoen en tuinen ook altijd zeer de moeite waard. Logistiek mbt entree, garderobe en kluisjes ook goed geregeld. Vlotte entree obv vooraf aangeschafte tickets, goede doorstroming. Must see.

Weer een hele mooie expositie van een 'grote' schilder uit het verleden, Frans Hals. Natuurlijk is zo'n tentoonstelling weer erg druk, meer in tegenstelling tot de Vermeer tentoonstelling liepen de andere gasten meestal wel door. Was een mooie gelegenheid om wat niet in Haarlem hangt in werkelijkheid te zien.

Een Halszaak

Wederom unieke tentoonstelling van schilderijen die ooit in Nederland gemaakt zijn door de humoristische Frans Hals. Nu komt veel ( 50 werken) weer samen met goede beschrijving . Ik miste alleen de tijdslijn, de geschiedenis achtergrond en het benoemen van collegae schilders. Maar Hals ik ook zo uniek

Mooiste museum van Amsterdam

Het was weer een genot om in het Rijksmuseum te zijn. Frans Hals schilderijen een streling voor de ogen. De tijdelijke schilderijen van Vincent van Gogh vond ik niet heel bijzonder. Maar het verhaal erachter dat Vincent het Rijksmuseum bezocht nadat hij zijn schilderij en wellicht schilderkist af had gegeven bij de garderobe is goud!

Frans Hals: fantastische tentoonstelling met teveel bezoekers tegelijk

Wij zijn naar het Rijks Museum gegaan voor de Frans Hals tentoonstelling. Ondanks dat wij een kwartier voor ons tijdslot aanwezig waren, werden wij op de maandagmiddag geconfronteerd met aanzienlijke wachtrijen. De tijden dat je even het museum binnenwipte liggen inmiddels ver achter ons. Het viel mee: de doorstroming vorderde gestaag. Het personeel gaf ons een warm welkom, ondanks de security-check op kleding (gericht op demonstranten van Extinction Rebellion en dergelijke) en tasjes. Bij de garderobe was voldoende personeel aanwezig om voor een vlotte afhandeling zorg te dragen. Voor de ingang naar de tentoonstelling werden onze tickets opnieuw gecontroleerd op het juiste tijdslot. De tentoonstelling zelf was fraai ingericht. De schilderijen waren goed uitgelicht tegen donkergrijsblauwe of, hier en daar, witte muren. De stijlverandering van Frans Hals van glad naar de losse toets werd prima uitgelegd op teksten met letters van voldoende grootte en op, gemiddeld goede hoogte. Hals werd voor zijn tijd ongekend oud, namelijk 86 jaar. De tentoonstellingsmakers geven aan dat hij met het klimmen der jaren steeds losser ging schilderen. Of dat de laatste 10 à 20 jaar van zijn leven het geval was, is echter zeer de vraag. Als je kijkt naar hoe hij de handen van een aantal geportretteerden uit die periode schildert, dan ziet het er meer naar uit dat hij niet meer in staat was om de handen fraai weer te geven. Op een aantal schilderijen zijn bijvoorbeeld vrouwen uitgebeeld met handen als kolenschoppen, groter zelfs dan hun hoofd (zie onder andere het Familieportret en de Regentessen van het Oude Mannenhuis). Misschien had hij die vaardigheid verloren, werd het routine of zag hij het allemaal niet meer zo goed. De lyrische zaalteksten over de steeds lossere toets, waarin de tentoonstellingsmaker zichzelf verliest, zijn dan echter storend. Het is toch niet erg om op te merken dat het werk van deze fantastische meester in zijn nadagen wat achteruit ging? Daar zal iedereen begrip voor hebben. Ook hadden wij graag gezien dat de tentoonstellingsmakers meer context hadden geboden, bijvoorbeeld door wat werk van zijn leermeester Karel van Mander toe te voegen. Of ter vergelijking een paar portretten van Bartholomeus van der Helst naast die van Hals te hangen. Wij hebben al met al genoten van het bijeen gebrachte werk. Complimenten aan conservator Friso Lammertse. Minder vonden wij dat er toch wel erg veel bezoekers per tijdslot werden toegelaten. Mijn vriendin met loopstok werd een paar keer bijna omver gelopen door bezoekers die niet keken waar zij liepen. Ronduit irritant waren de mensen die langdurig voor schilderijen bleven hangen om met hun smartphone een derderangs foto te maken. Dat houdt enorm op. Koop dan aan het eind van de tentoonstelling de netjes geprijsde catalogus of een paar kaarten à € 1,25. Maar dat zijn de enige kanttekeningen. De tentoonstelling is "once in a lifetime" en een "must-see." Mijdt echter de zondag vanwege de drukte: de dag voor ons bezoek kwamen er 15.000 mensen naar Hals.

Eerste bezoek aan het Rijksmuseum

Ik was voor het eerst naar het Rijksmuseum geweest, en het was een prachtige ervaring. Ik heb vele historische schilderijen gezien, en ook de verhalen achter de kunstwerken waren enorm interessant om te ontdekken.

Fantastisch

Heeft u mogelijk vorig jaar ook de speciale Vermeer tentoonstelling in het Rijksmuseum gemist dan kunt u zich nu revancheren. Nu is er een geweldige tentoonstelling met vele werken van Frans Hals te zien. Wacht niet te lang; er is grote belangstelling. Plant u te gaan bestel dan ook de audio tour, waardoor u per schilderij uitgebreid over het doek informatie ontvangt. Wij hebben genoten!

Frans Hals in het Rijksmuseum

Mooie en informatieve tentoonstelling over Frans Hals. Het was druk, maar niet overvol. Ik kon de schilderijen goed zien en de tekstborden goed lezen.

'Boijmans van Beuningen at Rijksmuseum'

Nu Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen gerenoveerd wordt, zijn zo'n 90 werken in het Rijksmuseum te zien. Prachtige expositie, thematisch van opbouw in een rustige en lichte setting. Kunst van de middeleeuwen tot nu, met werk van onder anderen Bruegel, Degas, Picasso, Rubens en Monet. Wees er snel bij, de tentoonstelling loopt nog maar tot 14 januari 2024. Verder ook nog even de Eregalerij bezocht. Blijft toch altijd prachtig, maar helaas ook erg druk.

Prachtig museum

Wat een mooi museum alle meesterwerken hingen er toen wij zijn gegaan. Ik ga zeker nog terug. Je hebt wel een paar uur nodig om alles op je gemak te bekijken.

Veel te zien

Veel te zien. Niet alleen kunst maar ook gebruiksvoorwerpen, boten op schaalmodel etc. Dus voor iedereen was wel iets te zien. Je kan een app instaleren en zo je eigen route bepalen maar dat werkte bij mij niet zoals ik hoopte. Er is eigenlijk te veel te zien. Dus neem de tijd of ga vaker

Rotterdam hangt in Amsterdam

Verrassend moderne kunst naast het antieke werk in het Rijksmuseum. Een foto van Erwin Olaf naast een 17e eeuws schilderij. En dan de collctie van museum Boijmans ,tijdelijk uit Rotterdam en in Amsterdam. Prachtig gepresenteerd,volgens leuke thema's.

Long en Boijmans van Beuningen

Vandaag de Boijmans van Beuningen tentoonstelling bekeken. Veel onderdelen vonden wij fantastisch. De meeste werken hangen hier echt heel mooi, soms zelfs mooier dan in het depot in Rotterdam. Het was erg afwisselend. We begrepen echter niet zo goed waarom angst en seksualiteit zo dicht bij elkaar tentoongesteld werden en we hadden daar graag een triggerwarning voor willen zien. Daarnaast was het een beetje chaotisch om de tentoonstelling te vinden en was het voor ons niet even snel duidelijk bij wie we ons kaartje moesten laten zien. Daar zou organisatorisch nog wat verbetering kunnen plaatsvinden. De werken in de tuin vonden we ook mooi. Long werkt simplistisch en dat had volgens ons wel zo zijn charme. De mannen wc's waren heel erg vies en roken naar urine. Dat was jammer.

Rijksmuseum Tour

Wij zijn geen kunstliefhebbers maar hadden toch een tour geboekt in het Rijksmuseum. We waren in Amsterdam dit weekend en dachten laten we dat eens doen. We moesten ons om 12:15 op een zaterdag verzamelen bij de “tour” paal onder in de hal van het prachtige gebouw van het rijksmuseum. Hier verscheen Hugo die ons aan de hand meenam door de wondere wereld van Hollandse meesters en de technieken van goud, kant en doorschijnende kleding gemaakt met olie verf. De anderhalf uur durende geschiedenis les van Hugo over Pierre Cuypers, Johannes Vermeer, de mensen en families op de portretten, oud en nieuw geld, Hautte Couture uit de middeleeuwen (dit is inmiddels politiek incorrect) en de schutterij was uitermate leerzaam en vooral enorm leuk om te ervaren. Met als afsluiter de Nachtwacht van Rembrandt van Rijn. De mate van enthousiasme waarmee Hugo je meeneemt terug in de tijd is ongeëvenaard. Dus voor alle mensen die denken dat het Rijksmuseum saai is vraag vooral om een tour van Hugo. We had a blast ! Dankjewel Rijksmuseum en vooral Hugo! Groetjes van Danique en Jimmy.

een indrukwekkend en boeiend museum

Een museum dat kunstliefhebbers een ruime keuze laat zien van verschillende kunstenaars ,er is voor elk wat wils

Prachtig museum. Kijkje waard

Prachtig om een keer dit museum gezien te hebben. Het was wel even een zoektocht wat nu het begin punt was. Er hingen prachtige schilderijen o.a. van Vermeer, Van Gogh (helaas maar 1) en Rembrandt. Ook veel andere attributen, maar daar zijn wij vluchtig even langs gelopen. Fijn dat er bij ieder kunstwerk bordjes hingen met info. Zowel in het NL als ENG Het eetgedeelte was wel prijzig. Maar wel een erg lekkere appeltaart met een flinke toef slagroom.

Don't miss it

This was my third visit in 10 years. It's a wonderful museum. Do grab an audio tour set. You won't be disappointed. And if you're there between July 13 and September 14, 2025, be sure to see Fiona Tan's show Monomania...one of the best and most interesting multimedia shows I've seen in a very long time. For context, I live in NYC and close to Santa Fe.

A beautiful labyrinth

This museum reminds me of the Louvre in the sense that it’s very big, I never know where I’m going and how to get to the start of an exhibition and I am constantly terrified of going through the wrong door and accidentally leaving the museum. Other than that it was beautiful, if a bit overcrowded. This place is a bit of a maze so if you’re unsure of where to go ask for help. There are tons of lockers and even a cloackroom. There are many bathrooms and elevators to get to where you’re wanting to go. All in all it’s a beautiful museum, if a bit confusing. It has beautiful art pieces and with the European Youth Card I got a reduced price for the entry which is was very happy about.

Can't wait to return

Rembrandt. I saw The Night Watch behind glass still fantastic. I think they were working on it because of the scaffolding. Van Gogh, everything was spectacular. Wear your track shoes and the interactive system needs refining. Overall. Beautiful.

Ein kulturelles Highlight

Für uns eines der besten Museen. Nicht überladen, ausgewählte Stücke. Dafür logisch angeordnet und gut erklärt Nicht was man sieht, sondern was den Künstler oder das Werk zu einer Besonderheit macht. Man wird, besonders mit der Gratis-App auf extrem interessante Details hingewiesen. Damit wird das Betrachten eines Kunstwerks auch für "Laien" ein lehrreiches Erlebnis.

Luglio ad Amsterdam

Museo molto ben organizzato. Un po' caro ma ne è valsa la pena. Per i minori di 18 anni è gratuito. Audioguide a pagamento ma si può scaricare il link ufficiale e usare il cellulare come audioguida. Tra gli autori più importanti Rembrand e un auto ritratto di Van gog.

A Must-Visit for Art Lovers – Stunning Masterpieces!

Rijksmuseum houses an incredible collection of Dutch art and history, with highlights including Rembrandt’s iconic The Night Watch (De Nachtwacht). Beyond Rembrandt, I also discovered beautiful works by Anton Mauve, whose serene landscapes captured the Dutch countryside perfectly, and the striking Mannerist paintings of Cornelis Cornelisz van Haarlem. The variety of styles and eras showcased here makes the museum a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. The building itself is stunning, with grand halls and excellent curation. The audio guide was helpful for deeper insights, and the layout made it easy to navigate. My only suggestion would be to arrive early to avoid crowds, especially around the famous pieces. Whether you're an art lover or just curious about Dutch culture, the Rijksmuseum is a must-see in Amsterdam. I’d highly recommend it!

Don’t miss this museum . Worth the money

We are so pleased we prioritized this museum during our 3 day visit to Amsterdam. We thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot about Dutch artists and history. Our favorite was seeing the Night watch by Rembrandt under restoration. It was fascinating to watch the restoration artists at work. The building itself is also interesting. A few tips: 1. Book to go early. We went at 9am and the crowds were greater by 11am 2. Download the app and take earbuds. It helps you navigate and makes for a more engaging experience 3. Allow st least 2 hrs. We were there for 3 hrs.

Värt ett besök!

En regnig söndag valde vi att gå på Rijksmuseum. Trodde det skulle vara jättelånga köer men kom in förvånansvärt fort. Mycket att titta på, och timmarna gick fort.

Amazing History of the Netherlands Awaits You Here

I visited with family and friends on the recommendation of a colleague. I had no idea what to expect. The museum is actually overwhelming because there is so much there. You really need more than one visit to take it all in. You definitely get a comprehensive view of Dutch history when you visit. The building itself is beautiful, and the exhibits are great. There are stunning stained glass windows in the great hall.

Great bit of culture to balance less cultural activities in Amsterdam

We went a little late in the day at 3.30 to find it shut at 5pm. It was worth going to see the iconic paintings. Well worth a trip. Free lockers which which was helpful.

Great for a rainy day

If you get there early enough, you’ll be able to cruise along all the rooms with tranquility. For people like me, who get tired easily, you will be glad to hear that there is plenty of seating for you to rest your legs. We had a few drinks and some bitterballen at the cafe and had a great time & took nice pics.

An Amsterdam must do!

Really enjoyed my visit to the Netherlands' most visited museum. A lot of visitors make a straight beeline to this world famous museum and it's easy to see why. You get to see the most renowned works from the world renowned Dutch Masters. If you really appreciate art, you'll probably need about half a day at least to fully take in the contrasting amounts of works. I saw the majority of the works in the three hours I had but I ending missing the Asian Pavillion, but I did see the highlights including Rembrandt van Rijn's Night Watch(under renovation at the time of this review, I was just grateful enough to see it) and Johannes Vermeer's Milkmaid. Try and get there as early as you can, as it is well busier in the afternoon. But if you book online as I did, you are given an hour's slot to make it to the museum. Visited the cafe too and whilst service can be a little slow the busier it gets, it is a fine way to rest weary legs and recharge and despite the prices, is a little less pricier than the restaurant, but I did visit on a Monday when the Rijks restaurant is closed. Shop moderately priced too. I didn't have time to pay a visit to the gardens, but they're free to visit anytime when the museum is open. Thoroughly recommend going round at your own pace, either by downloading the Rijksmuseum app or by spending €6.50(at the time of review) hiring an audio guide. You have more time to appreciate the works than any tour guide can give you. On selected works you simply type in the number provided into the app or screen and you get a personal commentary Can't recommend the Rijksmuseum enough when coming to Amsterdam

Excellent

Second visit to this hugely popular museum with a massive collection of exhibits on display over four levels. Along with the gift shop and cafe this is a great place to spend a few hours. You’ll need more than a day to fully appreciate the whole collection as after two separate visits, one all day and one just a third of a day, I still haven’t fully seen all of the first floor. Looking forward to completing the lot sometime again soon. The images are only from one of the many many rooms to view

Worth a stop during your visit!

Caught the train from city center to visit a local market. We were close enough to walk to Rijks to check it out as well. I strongly suggest buying tickets online in advance to make entry easier. Buying tickets on site is just from people standing outside no true ticket booths or anything. The interior layout is not what I expect from a museum. Most places have a layout that promotes walking in an order to see everything. Here it is easy to miss exhibits if you don't check every nook and cranny of a floor. If your into art this museum will probably be amazing. I am not into art though and just wanted the experience. I would not suggest the attached cafe for food. Service wasn't great, food was very overpriced and sub par.

Highly Recommend

Rembrandt and Van Gogh. How could you go wrong? Broad range of art and artifacts very well presented. I have now managed to knock off several of the world’s greatest art museums and the Rijksmuseum is among the best.

Glad we finally visited.

We went early morning to Rijksmuseum, it was so busy with school trips waiting to go in which seem to take priority other others who jumped the queue. Not sure if that is standard practice but we didn't mind waiting as it wasn't for long. Security check bags going in and they were really friendly. Lockers are provided for rucksacks. The toilets are clean and tidy. We tried to take the lift to the top floor and work our way down but it was busy so we gave up waiting and climbed the stairs. The whole museum is so clean and tidy, with places to sit and rest. My favourite of all the exhibitions were Operation Night Watch and the papercuts! I used to do papercutting years ago as a hobby and never realised its hundreds of years old! I'm glad we finally managed to visit after trying twice on previous trips.

Een prachtige filmische experiance over Van Gogh en Rembrandt. In de embiance van de oude Noorderkerk zie je over de nog steeds aanwezige onderdelen van de kerk, zoaks oreekstorl, orgel, kroonluchters en kerkramen impressies van werken van Van Gogh en van Rembrandt.

A must see experience

An amazing experience. It is in a beautiful massive church which is still used on Sundays for mass. The light display and auditory accompaniment of Van Goghs letters made it a wonderful show. You can sit on chairs or lie on bean bags put on the floor. Employees are friendly and it is well worth going to see. Thank you Van Gogh and Rembrandt

The show was amazing! Very nice portrayal of Van Gogh and Rembrandts art, totally worth it! The show was about 40 minutes long, perfect duration. Shout out to Gustavo, super nice guy!

Absolutely wonderful experience, was in awe of the lights and sounds. It taking place in the church too made it even more mesmerizing! 10/10 would recommend, and Bruno was a star!

Experiencia distinta e inusual !!!

Mis hijos (guías) nos invitaron a ver esta versión de las obras de Van Gogh y Rembrandt hacia allí fuimos, luego de un día bastante agotador de largas caminatas. La sorpresa cuando entramos y era una iglesia, ahí nos explicaron que eran imágenes de las obras, mucha, mucha gente joven nos sentíamos fuera del entorno, decidimos sentarnos en los bancos de la iglesia mientras la enorme mayoría se acostaba en almohadones en el piso. Inicio en hora, buen ambiente, buena música, imágenes en las paredes y techo ahí me percaté porqué los jóvenes elegían el piso, me resultó difícil poder acompañar el inglés con las imágenes, pero una linda experiencia. Para quienes tenemos una idea clara de los artistas es una puesta al día muy interesante, a bajo costo distinta e inusual !!!

Beautiful Experience at the Van Gogh and Rembrandt Museums in amsterdam ✨️

The show was absolutely beautiful and inspiring — a true celebration of art and history. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the visit. The overall atmosphere was calm and well-organized. One small suggestion: I would love to see more seating areas in the central spaces to relax and take in the art more comfortably. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Amsterdam — a must-see experience!

More restrictive than other immersive experiences, but if you are a Rembrandt or Van Gogh fan, still enjoyable!

We entered the darkened church sanctuary and had to find seats (choose from large cushions on the floor or church pews or chairs) not knowing what direction we would be looking. It was hard to hear the introduction since the speaker did not have a microphone. Once the program began, it seemed like images on one wall did not travel around 360 degrees. And depending on where you sit, you may have chandeliers and other infrastructure in your sightline. At times, it was a bit difficult to hear the words spoken during the program. Rembrandt was not as interesting or as colorful as Van Gogh (at least in his later years). I ended up just looking around and up to see what I could enjoy during the program. I did see a number of my favorite Van Gogh paintings, but have no idea how many different works were covered. The show lasted about 40 minutes. It was not as much fun as the other immersive experiences I've seen (where you can get up and move around), but it was still enjoyable!

Worth the visit if you have a ride!

Enjoyable! Set in an historic church both artists attended. Sound is a little garbled; visuals are like a panoramic slide show. Area is difficult to access via taxi.

Not when you are tired!

I was tired after long day of walking and there were mats on which I lay - this was a mistake. I initially started to dose. The imagery is cast on the ceiling and the walls. Lying on your back you have to crane your head around to see the walls as well. I wonder if it would have been better to have been seated? The sound, as I am a senior, was occasionally difficult to discern but overall mood was set and did impact the images. I am not certain that the value is there though at 17€ for 40min. On the other hand I do not regret spending time experiencing Van Gogh’s words while seeing his images.

Beautiful Experience

The atmosphere in this church was truly beautiful, and the production of the experience was top-notch. Our guide for the day, Gustavo, was fantastic. It's quite something to realise you're in the same church where both Rembrandt and Van Gogh once were (and that it's still an active church)! The unique touch of laying on bean bags in the church's center made it even more memorable. We found the experience to be very informative and thoroughly impressive. Definitely recommend a visit! Just be sure to wrap up warm, as it can be a little cold inside, which is understandable for such a large church

Merci pour cette belle expérience, les jeux des sons et lumières sont magnifiques dans une église où des matelas sont mis à votre disposition au sol pour admirer le joli spectacle. Pensez à vous couvrir car il fait assez frais dans l'église et le spectacle dure 40mins. Gustavo est juste genialissime, très agréable. Attention le spectacle est entièrement commenté mais en anglais exclusivement. Si vous achetez un tour en bateau ou en bus rouge vous aurez une réduction pour cette attraction. Merciiiii

Incredible

The story was incredible. How the pictures were displayed felt like Van Gogh was there through his artwork. This is our last day in Amsterdam and it really made our final day feel special. Thank you to all the people who made the amazing display.

Amazing immersive experience and not to be missed!

Beautiful immersive way to enjoy learning about Van Gogh and Rembrandt. Gorgeous setting and wonderful video/music projected onto the church. I feel sad by the amount of negative reviews because the purchasers didn’t know what they were buying - this is no reflection on the experience and is user error. The website clearly states multiple times ‘we are not the Van Gogh museum’ so I don’t think they can do any more to avoid this happening. I would definitely recommend - I loved lying on the bean bags to watch the church transform in front of my eyes!

Wonderful experience

The show was amazing and breathtaking !! The images and the sound worked so well together. We enjoyed the whole show and the time flew away. The church as a place for this show was just the perfect spot. For us it was the perfect final of a great day in Amsterdam. It’s a beautiful way to come a little closer to the two artist Van Gogh and Rembrandt, even if you don’t enjoy standing in a museum and watching art the whole day.

Tolles Event

Wir wurden von einem supernetten Team empfangen, die Atmosphäre in der Kirche war natürlich auch etwas ganz besonderes. Die Show war wundervoll aufgebaut, immer wieder gab es fantastische Übergänge. Die Geschichte Van Goghs aus seinen Briefen zu erfahren war wirklich spannend, man sollte auf jeden Fall recht gut englisch verstehen können, um den Texten zu folgen. Wir waren auf jeden Fall begeistert und haben viele Fotos und Videos gemacht. Es lohnt sich, sich frühzeitig in die Schlange zu stellen, um einen der gemütlichen Sitzsäcke zu bekommen.

Great experience, different and beautiful. It would be better if there were different languages, and the sound is a bit low so it was difficult to understand.

The visuals were great, it felt so surreal. The staff were super patient (I was 5 minutes late 🤭🤭) Definitely recommend!!

Immersive experience

A very cool experience linking the two great artists in a church we you are surrounded but their artwork screened onto the walls and ceiling. Music was emotive and the art stunning. Only downside is the audio which can be difficult to hear.

Impressive visuals

Such an incredible show! The visuals were so impressive and very friendly staff! I liked how you could take photos of the show as well.

Came here with my partner without pre-planning our visit and found that to be no problem. Upon queueing up we found out that there was an English show in an hour and a half and that we could come back for that show. When we got back, we bought the tickets without any issues, made our way inside the church and found a beanbag to lay down on. The whole experience took about 45min and was absolutely beautiful to watch. They tell you the (a small part of) life story of Van Gogh and how that intertwined with Rembrandt, how the paintings got to be as we know them today and the visuals really captivate the words that are spoken. The visuals in general are absolutely captivating and very peaceful. For some the show was so peaceful they even snoozed off. Which was quite hilarious to see. I do have to say that the seating availability isn't the greatest for the angle you need to be tilting your head to watch the show for a long time. If you have a beanbag you are definitely a lucky person, since many complained about their neck afterwards. Overall a good experience, would recommend this for the arts enthusiasts out there.

By mistake me, my wife and my baby girl have visited the Van Gogh x Rembrandt but honestly what an experience to have in Amsterdam. Bruno was super cool and has shared so much after the presentation too. Definitely if you are in Amsterdam you should pay them a visit!

Great price and worth the visit.

My husband and I really enjoyed this experience. It was a great way to increase our basic knowledge of both artists while enjoying the visuals of their works projected in a place they met. The experience was immersive and cut you off from the outside world. While we were a few minutes late, the staff were accomodating and the experience was worth our time. Would recommend.

What a wonderful way to enjoy both artists stories and feel as if you’re in the painting. You can stand, sit or lie down on large pillows. My daughter and I happened upon this immersive experience, offered in Dutch and English. A 360 degree projection in De Noorderkerk. The staff were gracious and kind! I couldn’t have asked for a better serendipitous immersive art experience. I highly recommend and would see again. Tickets can be bought at the door.

Great venue and lovely helpful staff. Unique experience

Visited this exhibition and although had some trouble finding it it was well worth it. The staff were so helpful helping us find our way back to central train station. Amazing venue and insightful story told. The projections of the artists works were incredible. A fully emersive experience we would strongly recommend.

I wondered how it will be, the result for me is that I was very satisfied. Indeed, it is well done, both for images, Lights and sounds. I think I understand now better who is Rembrandt and I have to say that thanks to this show I also appreciate his paints...

An interesting take on same famous artists. Very comfortable seating and an all immersive viewing for 45 mins. If you want something a little different and not too much detail this is ideal. NB. You should know a little about the two and art before heading in.
