The ticket includes pop on sightseeing bus and boat lines. It was convenient and worthy. Good experience!

I had a great time on both the boat and bus. All the staff were nice and helpful, especially Sofia.

Absolutely loads to see. We really enjoyed exploring all day and learning about Swedish history and animals. An excellent place to spend the day.

Great visit to this large open-air museum — one of the highlights of our trip to Stockholm. The park is filled with many preserved Swedish buildings that you can pop into and there are takes you back in time to see how people used to work and live. There were also many cute Nordic animals inside. A great place to visit to learn about Sweden. It’s huge so expect to spend at least 3 hours inside.

Amazing experience, large beautiful place and it has everything you need when you come with a toddler. Restaurant, zoo, playground and other interactive & interesting attractions.

Go back in time and learn and see the Swedish culture. Museums, glassblowing, dancing, theatre, animals, gardens, aquarium, etc. Very clean and everyone is so friendly. Five STARS.

In 1972 I was fascinated by Scandinavian history. I finally got to live my little girl memories in the delight that is Skansen. Every corner held a new treasure and I cannot wait to go back and explore some more. I love the feeling of being out in the wild, peaceful countryside but in the heart of Stockholm. Very well put together and well kept. Delightful.

Fabulous outdoor museum and kids zoo. We were presented with a paper map and off we went to explore. So much to see. My husband and I enjoyed chatting in the furniture workshop, engineering workshop and the hardware shop. We saw the moose, bison and wild boar. The elevator and funicular railway saved us some uphill walking. Lots of places to eat. Family friendly. The old buildings are beautiful. Well done on a great museum.

Skansen is both an open-air museum and a zoo, showcasing Swedish history with reconstructed farmsteads and historical buildings. There's also a delightful zoo featuring native Scandinavian animals. The live demonstrations and seasonal activities make it engaging for visitors of all ages. Be prepared for a lot of walking, but it's worth every step.

Veramente consigliatissima

My boyfriend and I went to Slansenon Midsommar and despite it being I’m sure more crowded than usual, it was a fantastic place to explore and spend several hours! The actual raising of the maypole was very crowded but once you moved away from that there was plenty of space to spread out and see all there was to see. Very fun to be outdoors on a beautiful day! We did not take the funicular up or down, or is a short walk up, some steps and manageable incline for a short distance. Also no need to wait for the escalator if there’s a line, it is a very short walk up after entering. Note: we did not eat here and there were several long-ish lines at the food vendors. Many people do bring their own food and picnic there though!

A very interesting day out at this wonderful heritage and cultural centre - it is difficult to call it a museum. It's worth taking the funicular to the top to start your visit as this makes it easier to see more of the attractions. There is a lot of walking involved and we didn't have the time to see it all, so we may well go back when we next visit Stockholm. There are lots of places within Skansen to get something to eat or drink and there is ample seating all round the "park".

Parco stupendo.

We visited Skansen in part to avoid the cruise ship crowds at the other museums, so I didn't have high expectations, but we could honestly have stayed all day if time had permitted! Bus 67 brings you from the city center to the front of Skansen. It was much larger than I anticipated, and we visited the Baltic Sea Science Center plus the nordic animals section, as well as the historical sites. There are a lot of farmstead types of sites which are spread out, as well as the town quarter, gardens with city viewpoints and Sami area, so bring comfortable shoes. There are food vendors out front, and the gift shop is very nice.

Just leaving Skansen and wanted to thank the new General Manager: he demonstrated a commitment to customer service that reminded me of Tom Cruise in Top Gun. If everyone gets a fraction of the great service I received- the place will thrive under his leadership!

Initially I had very low expectations from this place but this one surprised me as it is not just a zoo but a lot more. As the name suggests it's an open air museum illustrating the old style of living of Swedish people. How the people used to live, how their houses were. The zoo is also interactive for kids. It also has great views and nice walking trails. Overall something for everyone.

We really enjoyed it here. We hadn't researched it much so had no expectations but were pleasantly surprised. You start by walking through a live historical museum of olde world shops like a glass maker, bakers, iron mungers etc which was pretty interesting and then you move on to the various green spaces, rune stones, and the bit we didn't realise was part of Skansen but loved the most, the Nordic Animals section. We saw 3 very lazy bears, some Lynx, seals and the best bit, some Moose! I'd definitely recommend to anyone young, old, with kids or without.

I had high expectations for Skansen but it was still much better than I'd expected. If possible, chose to go when the weather is forecast to be good as apart from the Aquarium it's almost all outdoors. The buildings are fascinating, various types including very old buildings and a village with crafts to watch. The Nordic animals are wonderful - we went around twice. We didn't have time to see the Aquarium, pay extra for it. We arrived by 11am and only left at 6pm because they were closing for the day. Don't take my word, just visit. I've been to several re-enactment villages and this is vastly the best.

parsley1410
Very interesting museum very much like Beamish or Iron Bridge in UK The houses are amazing and from different time periods in Swedish history. Guides ALL speak English and are happy to chat. lots of walking as its vast and quite hilly, amazing views from the back of the park near the bear enclosure. Set aside the best part of a day to visit and hope for sunny weather as its all outside Entrance opposite the Abba Museum short tram ride from Stockholm City centre

We didn't have as much time here as we would have liked so didn't see it all, but there was so much we did see that it was amazing. The little town was great and so interactive, and the houses all so authentic. A bit of a lack of signage in places, and it's vast so keep your map on you. The Nordic animals were so great to see - we did go to the smaller zoo there also, which felt like a bit of a liberty to pay nearly the same entrance fee again for such a small area, but it was great to get up close and personal with baby lemurs!

This is a must see in Stockholm, easy to get to by boat from the centre. The site is vast a mish mash of preserved buildings, reinacted ways of life and animals native to the area. The old buildings are just that and definitely one for the purists. The reinactments can be great to understand how people used to live. We encountered two ladies who gave an excellent demonstration of how to recycle wool clothing. But this wasn't guaranteed as another actor in the ironmongery shop seemed to be recreating a ghost and just stared at us. The animals, if they were actually there (some of the pens were empty), we're great. They have a wide variety in large pens. The bears were especially good watching them climb trees or play in the pool with a hose.

Excellent, very interactive outdoor museum/children’s zoo/aquarium. Great for the whole family - teens, pre-teens, younger kids and adults. Don’t miss the working glass blowing factory, highly interactive children’s zoo and small aquarium, as well as learning about the many traditional buildings transported from all over Sweden.

One of my favorite spots in Stockholm! From the historical side of it, to the museums, picnic areas, kids space, the aquarium, the friendly staff.. if you go on a sunny day you will definitely have a blast!
Natasha_Var
Visit this place if you go during a sunny day and have half a day to spare. The houses were brought from different locations and have the original furniture inside, it's kind of a small museum in each house. There are houses that belong to craftmanship and there are workshops or presentations is each house. There is a large market place where you can buy food and drinks. There is also an aquarium with all sorts of fish, a zoo for kids and a location with nordic animals.

HanneloreH777
One of the best attractions we visited in Stockholm. It covers quite a large area, there is a lot of Swedish heritage and cultural artefacts to see and experience. It creates somewhat immersive experience with a lot of historical details and touches. The zoo area was quite enjoyable as well, although it wouldn't usually be my sort of thing, but not this time - it felt almost like seeing the animals in their natural habitat rather than a zoo. The most amazing touch was the picnic area where you could even do your own BBQ or buy freshly prepared traditional Swedish dishes.

Me and my bf had a lovely trip to Skansen. It is easy to get to by the tram line. Loved the old buildings showing the traditional way of life in Sweden, although lots of them were closed when we visited. Make sure to check out the view, as there's an incredible view of the city in the back left corner. A nice variety of Nordic animals outside to see, lots were asleep but still visible. The bears were so cute and looked very happy. We managed to get quite close to the reindeers as they were eating at the time. The star of the show for us though was the African animals and reptile area/aquarium. You have to pay extra to enter this area but it is definitely worth it! The tiny marmosets were the best part for me, incredibly inquisitive and sweet. The African area also has a great monkey enclosure with lots of baby monkeys, and the meerkat enclosure you can get up very close to them. The aquarium was incredible, with massive crocodiles, and amazing fish to see. Lots of snakes on show as well, and you can even touch a snake and tarantula. The Baltic museum bottom floor looked incredible, with a walkthrough tunnel and lots to learn about. The upstairs area included more informative, educational areas. Great trip overall!

Had an absolutely wonderful day at Skansen. It is advertised as an open air museum with restored and saved buildings from around Sweden. There are plenty of buildings dotted around the site to look at and some you can go in. We visited on a weekend and many of the town buildings were open to go in (specifically the old amenities shop, glass makers, bakers, iron monger and iron shop). I can understand why some reviews are annoyed that a lot of the buildings are closed or don’t have ‘actors’ or info givers. However, if you visit during the week and in off season what do you expect?! There were plenty of ‘info givers’ in costume dotted around and the lady in the Old amenities shop was very clear they were not actors but simply there to give information about the building and blend in. There were also tours throughout the day guiding you around the buildings and giving info. Some buildings appear shut but if you go up to the door and try it you can go in for a look (to those complaining take some initiative and try the door handle…) The experience also advertised a zoo where visitors can see animals from around Sweden - this was a lovely experience seeing reindeer (defiantly attend the reindeer talk at 1230!) brown bears, Lynx and Moose! This was a lovely part of the day. Overall, I really enjoyed Skansen and think those complaining need to do better research about what you are paying to get into - website clearly states that it’s a mixed experience and if you visit on the off season expect there to not be as many buildings open with info givers. Only criticism is there isn’t a great amount of food options.
