Altéide Quintet
Traditional dance and folk with a modern twist: the Altéide Quintet brings you closer to music from the 20th century. E.g. the Danish Carl Nielsen, who used plain folk themes and old English folk songs as a source of inspiration. Malcolm Arnold also based his work on old English shanties, as often sung by seamen. Dance music is presented by a.o. the French Henri Tomasi. With five different dance performances, he shows the most minimal music as well as complex rhythm and metric. Five brass players conclude with festive tunes by jazz musician Paquito D’Rivera: swinging, jazzy, and tropical.
