Contemporary artists from all over the world have created spectacular light art, that will light up the city center of Amsterdam during the darkest months of the year.

During the cruise on the Small Boat you will be provided with a welcome drink. To make sure you don’t get cold in this semi-open boat you will get pillows and blankets. The Small Boat has a personal character and provides a good opportunity to take pictures.

Theme Amsterdam Light Festival

The organization of the Amsterdam Light Festival introduces a new theme every edition. The selected artists have to base their work on this theme. The theme of the Amsterdam Light Festival 2019 – 2020 is, Disrupt. 

Artists

Each edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival artworks are selected by a panel of judges. Through a worldwide Call for Concepts, artists from all over the world were asked to submit new ideas for the festival. They have been giving the special task to relieve the city of Amsterdam artfully.
